Sore Thumbs Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 I heard he caught most of his sack off of one lay down. Not sure it's true.

On one hand it screwed him up. On the other Christie may know some big fish haunts from past experience and that info gave him time to run those spots. If the guy didn't know Christie and was an Evers fan that truly sux. Christie was fishing his big fish spots. That guy that told him Evers had a big sack had nothing to do with it. These guys aren't saving fish for the last day of the Classic, it's only 3 days.

He gets on my nerves on MLF when he grunts and breathes real heavy on every single fish. Christie seems to be a good guy and more down to earth. I was hoping he would win it but hats off to Edwin for making a great comeback. I really enjoyed Bass Live. I don't think Evers gets accused of being a great guy very often. Might go down as one of the most unpopular winners ever. I've met him 3 times and did not walk away with a cheery, warm feeling on any of the 3. Don't think what jig he was using made one smidgen of a durn. He found a couple of places they were stacked on. The guy really did the right thing. He made a total new move from his first two days. He thought there would be fish there, but knew he had to have the right wind. Very much like a hunter that stays away from a location without the proper wind. Got to really credit him however with how he worked the locations over after catching a fish. He put his nose to the grindstone, stayed focused and fished with great enthusiasm. He deserved to win, no doubt. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

My Dad has met him on and off the water and just loves him. He talks about how friendly and polite he was (is). You've bumped into him three times and had a bad impression every time. First impressions are huge and hard to overcome IF you frost someone from the get go. I've never met him and I don't at all mean to discount what your saying. It's just interesting the difference between the impressions you each took away after meeting him. I agree completely that it was locations and technique more than the particular lure. I always fish better when I have confidence in a bait, but it catches fish better if I throw the bait where some fish are. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. dtrs5kprs Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Think he kept a sweet spot in his pocket for the final push. If you caught it on the live coverage, they noted how his in laws had won a couple of boats and a Redman in that same area. It was while the on the water cameras were down. Oddly, the only time I tried to watch it. When I saw the blog about him leading the first thing I thought of was Bill mentioning his impressions. I've not met him so can't say either way. Not that it matters a bit.

If you listen to his interview after the tournament he said after he found out he started running to his big fish spots. It just didn't pan out.
