big c Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 My responce didnt sound right......glad we all agree on being friendly is moe what i was getting at.
merc1997 Bo Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 i understand just moving on and letting it go, but on the other hand, that is exactly why this country is in the shape it is in. at some point "political correctness" needs to go away. i imagine that i would have asked this person if he did not see us fishing there, and most people would be not quite as rude and give an angler more room. after his telling me that he can fish where he wants to, i would imagine that a few casts would clang off his boat. my explanation would be that is why it is the best way to give an angler room. it is for safety purposes. oh well, guess we will always have idiots to put up with. just another reason that i try to go when everyone else is in bed. bo Muddy Water, Mitch f, Champ188 and 1 other 4
Mitch f Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I've seen so much of it I'm getting jaded. Had a retirement age dude and his wife cut me off to a crappie spot. Trolling motor only lake, I was at 50% speed and he was at full blast with that determined look on his face. His wife was visibly embarrassed by what a jerk he was. She's smiling and making small talk, he's scowling at me. Oh well, take your crappie you old fart. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Members CrappieMaster24 Posted May 1, 2016 Members Posted May 1, 2016 Keeping distance is always considerate, but as long as someone is fishing in front of you and the front of their boat is going down the bank, anything is free game. If someone is fishing down a bank and you pull in front of them and start fishing that's what pisses me off, and what is the worst is when someone is leaving a spot and trolling out of a cove or something and you start to go in there and they turn back around and go back in there then that's when words are said, that's just bull crap. But everyone should have good etiquette on the water!! Mitch f 1
Champ188 Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I can agree with just about every response on this post, as all have merit. I lean toward Bo's theory that LETTING these turds have their way and run roughshod over you is why it has become so prevalent. Sometimes it's pure ignorance, which is easier for me to forgive than outright rudeness. There was a story on this forum within the past year or so where a guy pulled up within casting distance of an OA member and told him sorry to cut you off but I'm fishing a tournament. In that case, it would be hard for me not to bounce the biggest bait I had tied on off the side of his rig. Or his empty noggin. Repeatedly. Until he left. All that said, it's probably best to take the high road and just leave. dan hufferd, bobby b. and Pepe 3
GNSfishing Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I'd leave but not after a few choice words. I've had this happen so many times lately that I wish for the old days when we/us fishermen respected each other. But this new world of order just sucks.. Give me the good old days where everyone had seats in their boats and used them.. too many $$$$$$$ in the game now.. Daryk Campbell Sr and Champ188 2

denjac Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 When the whites school in huge numbers , you will see many boats side by side. I have many times inside moonshine been fishing for them with 20 or more boats within casting distance of me. All our fish finders are scrambled due to the close proximity. We all converse and yuk it up while the bite lasts. Wonder why when we change species out attitudes change? OldMillRoad, Fish24/7 and Hammer time 3 Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. Standing up for democracy is why we are in debt. In what other country can your hook up go fish lake fork then go 1000 islands in New York then pheasant hunt in South Dakota? Nowhere! I love this country!! mixermarkb 1
