I placed an order with Mountain Hardwear 12/19, shipped USPS on 12/21.....still don’t have it.  They claim I will have by 01/22.  I am not holding my breath, and it is simply “inconceivable” that outfit is going belly up........

Everything coming from the East takes an insane path to my door.   Even orders as close as STL.

I can order from Bob Marriott's in CA and Feathercraft in STL on the same day.....and the order from CA will be here 4-6 days sooner.

The real problem was when UPS handed it off to USPS on 1/12.

USPS has supposedly still got a backlog of packages from before Christmas. https://www.inquirer.com/news/philadelphia/usps-tracking-package-shipping-delays-philadelphia-december-20210116.html

I get this whole thing big time.  It burns my rear big time too. There is some weird agreement between the USPS and UPS . It comes down to shipping things by air. UPS can  ship  some items that are hazardous by air and USPS cannot but can use UPS to do so. In this agreement UPS can drop off items to the post office then USPS to deliver. All it is is laziness by UPS in my eyes. Oh we did not have any other deliveries in your area that day. Hogwash! Get the same crap with FEDEX. I track some items on their journey. Have had three items carried by FEDEX on truck out for delivery and not show. If I can and have got info correct I have called which is tough to the hub in Joplin and talked to a real person.  Three times this rough looking to say it nicely lady has had to deliver the packages on her own time in her own vehicle to me. I cannot believe she may be still with them. She drives a van and drives like heck on rural roads. My last trolling motor arrived with a bent motor shaft. You could see where the shaft had poked a hole in the carboard box and Minn Kota packs the Trolling motors well. I get the Covid deal somewhat. This all was before this debacle. Rant over and i have not seen rough lady on route in sometime.

Took me over 3 weeks to get a Bass Pro order from Springfield MO.  Crazy!

Took me over three weeks to get a rifle scope from my uncle. Illinois side of St. Louis. Right on package priority 3 day. It set in St. Louis most of that time.

Not even sure why UPS would have handed this one off. There are UPS deliveries up and down this street every day. This one's not a big deal for me, more funny/crazy than irritating.

On the other side: I sent my sister some BBQ for Christmas last month. I'm careful about tracking food deliveries because I've had it thaw sitting on the front porch before. I had warned my sister about the delivery, but FedEx delivered it a day EARLY. Fortunately she noticed it sitting out there. Lesson learned -- check daily.

Before computers, they would not have been able to pull that off. They would have had to just deliver it to you. 🤪
