Members big rich Posted May 13, 2016 Members Posted May 13, 2016 Caught a lot of kentucky's, smallies, LM and walleye on this trip. A lot on plastics and one hard bait that I should have fished first. Couldn't believe how many LM I caught that were still full of eggs and not spawns out. We boated 18 walleye this trip. 7 keepers with 4 being really nice. Bass and walleye were caught on same lure. marcus, Mitch f, dan hufferd and 3 others 6
dan hufferd Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Thank you I haven't been down there in a long time. I wondered if the fishing was getting good again.
Bill Babler Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Big Rich, could you perhaps give us a bit more information on your wonderful trip. Couple of things that would be helpful is lake location as what section you were fishing and also the kind of structure you were targeting and why? Surface temps and presentation, how you decided on your baits and how you presented them. Information like this is just not available on Bull Shoals and would truly help those of us that on a very rare occasion like to venture down that way. Also as far as the Spawn on the White River, It is really just getting started. Yes there are early bedders caught as usual, but there is twice as many spawning and will be the full moon in May over any other time. Table Rock's White River section is on the Spawn right now. If you decide to give us some additional info, that is fantastic, and truly what this wonderful forum is all about, helping each other. Mitch f Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 I wouldn't post any specifics unless you care if the whole world knows. bassfisher and ramman123 2 "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Bill Babler Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Asking for nothing specific, just reasons for what he did and why he did it. Or, maybe some Meaningful Guidance. This forum is to help educate and share information, not specifics but considerations. Have a good evening. Daryk Campbell Sr 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

No one in the history of Ozark Anglers has shared more than Bill. He asked for general information, not specific locations. Anyone unwilling to contribute methods, theories, equipment choices, etc. really has nothing much to offer here. Diamond City Fisher and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

Sorry, I didnt mean to be so blunt, However if the gentleman who was nice enough to post this great trip he had would have wanted to tell us, he wouldve. If Bill wants to give out the information, thats great. Thanks Bill "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Mitch f Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Lets look at it a different way Champ. If I asked you to give locations to guys (lake locations, what sections, and structure) that you knew were meat hunters, based on your past posts, you would surely say no. I totally agree with you and would say no too. You then think about the amount of people who participate in this forum, either by contributing or just sitting back and reading. My question to you is Champ, how many people do you think are finding out information and would fillet as many fish as they can? How many thousands of log-ins per day? the answer is no one knows how powerful the internet really is. 10 years from now someone can log in and find out what im saying with about 5 minutes of searching. I love Bill Babler, he's a great inpiration to all who come to this forum, im just trying to be careful to protect our beloved fisheries. Old plug Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I go along with Mitch on this. I understand peole like Babler are in bussiness down there. That is really the underlying reason this forum functions. I will not tell you anything about LOZ as for as specifics go. I rarely even discuss technique. Hammer time and Mitch f 2
fishinwrench Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I'm surprised to hear that the bass spawn is lagging down there. We fished bass guarding schools of fry all day yesterday up here on LOWER Lake O. Typically you guys are 2 weeks ahead of us during spawns and we are 2 weeks ahead of you on shad kills. Tossed a sluggo near one cloud and got to see one suck 50% of the school of fry into its mouth yesterday. Had always heard they'd do that but had never witnessed it before. Needless to say it wouldn't bite after that. We watched it and about 5 minutes later it went back to the rest of the school and spit them back out. Pretty cool to see! dan hufferd, dtrs5kprs, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 4
