No, it's upstream from there. No access at McKee bridge

Kelly Ford is a great place to Put In.  You are not too far downstream from Rainbow Springs, so it is often possible to paddle your way upstream and hit almost all of the trout water.  Can also take the easier drive up to Hammond Camp and paddle down to Rainbow/Kelly in less than an hour.

PS - If you have some coin, the TreeHouse Cabins at River of Life are a special treat.  Also Guide Brian Wise can put you on some fish with expertise that will pay back every time you fish the NFOWR.

I am not so sure some of you are being fair to the property owner for charging $30.00 for access. As it was mentioned he has a lot of money tied up in his land and business and needs to pay employees and feed his family. Another way to think of it is if he did not own and allow access someone else might own it and not let anyone fish it at all.

In Missouri, we have a lot of public water with a lot of access. We are lucky, but you can't have it all.

I see your point, but $30 is way too much IMO. $5-$10 sounds more reasonable. I'm guessing he had a bad experience somewhere down the line. Maybe he thinks he can price his way out of the Riff Raff

I can tell you that if you've stayed there before and Myron knows who you are then he probably won't take your money if you just want to drop by and fish awhile.

It's a really cool place, you'll like it almost as much as your wife will.  Stay there sometime.

Myron's a good guy, he lent me a canoe to finish my trip one day when my cedar strip busted a seam going down the falls. When I brought his canoe back the next day he wouldn't except anything.

I'd agree -- Myron is a good guy. I've always enjoyed chatting with him too. Interesting guy.

I wasn't complaining about the fee. If that's what the charge is then that's what the charge is. I see people spend more than that all the time to go to SDC. But I'm not going to spend money with someone who answers a question about cost by telling me how much his expenses are. ALL businesses have expenses. Just tell me your price and I'll determine if it's worth it to me. Your expenses mean nothing to me and I shouldn't have to hear it. I don't use that as an excuse to my customers.
