awhuber Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 A few years ago we would get them in Dent Co. every Thursday around 11 am. Now a days it is every other month, or so.
ness Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I've heard there has been increased UFO activity in the area. Plus, there was that signal received from the Andromeda galaxy last week. It's pretty obvious to me what we've got here. Phil Lilley, BilletHead, awhuber and 1 other 4 John

fishinwrench Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 I can't buy the sonic boom theory/excuse because according to what I can find about "boom coverage" it would have had to be something flying super sonic at an elevation equal to 700 miles above the earth in order to have been heard over that great of a distance. How many tens of thousands of feet are in 700 miles ? Do we fly that high? Surely not.
Flysmallie Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I agree wrench. From the distance it was heard there is no way it was a sonic boom.
Gavin Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 The boom travels with the jet until it goes subsonic. As long as it's within earshot you will feel it. The sonic wave looked like a big boat wake moving across the water on the few occasions that the F-15 jocks where allowed to do supersonic low level fly bye's on the Ranger. awhuber, bfishn and MOPanfisher 3
slothman Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I heard it in Versailles this afternoon. Afterwards, when I was driving back home to the lake I heard on the radio (KRMS) a report from a guy at the lake that said he could hear a jet afterwards, but never saw anything.

So it just BOOMS it's way across the sky ? If so then why don't we hear echos ? I was under the impression that it only boomed once at the moment that a certain acceleration speed was achieved. Like a bullwhip or a bullet.

Some are saying sonic boom but I remember those from when I was a kid and this thing sounded like a giant explosion. Who all heard it ? I think it was just the lady of the house laying down the law.

When I was a kid my brother and I were running around the house being rambunctious, and we had a little tremor that shook the house pretty good. We froze in our tracks, eyes as big as horse turds, and my mom looks at us and says "See what you did...now SETTLE DOWN". We did too. Daryk Campbell Sr and Old plug 2
