Can't really complain about free shipping @ $50 from TW. They ship UPS Ground for the free shipping and whatever the UPS tracking info says about your package is nearly dead on every time. Might be a delay here and there with weather or an unforeseen event (have seen delays due to mechanical failure of a plane for UPS 2 Day Air...stuff happens). How else do you expect a company to already have the lowest prices on most tackle (not so much on rods and reels unless it's on sale/clearance), carry the largest inventory of any tackle retailer and eat the shipping costs on small orders just over the $50 mark? Shipping is a HUGE expense to a company. If they didn't make these "deals" with UPS they probably couldn't afford to either have low prices on their products or wouldn't be able to give free shipping unless you spent $75 or $100.

For reference you can take this to the bank on when you receive your package:

I have never had a issue with TW. So far they have been very prompt on their deliveries. They must sell a lot of tackle to ship at those rates.

I work at a bank. I don't have a debit card, never have. If you understood what's at stake, you probably wouldn't either.

I like using other people's money.

Well educate me, because I'm ignorant about the danger(s).

I pay a little extra for some kind of protection.  Supposedly if my stuff gets hacked or whatever I am supposed to be protected.   It cost 5 bucks a month or something.   Funds don't set in my account very long, I'm pretty good at spending everything I deposit.

I actually get paid for using my debit card, and I figured there was a good reason why they encourage it so much.

The problem comes from bounced checks or rejected ACH payments. Those payees will want to charge you a bounced check or late fee, and good luck getting them to waive them. And your bank won't help you with that. Then there's the hassle factor.

I know one of the senior managers at our Cabela's in Rogers very well and he's out on the floor quite a bit.

Thats good to hear, admittedly im at BP more than Cabelas. I will say though my experience with the sales 'kids' has been less than satisfying there. My last experience was i asked the kid running the fly shop if they had a 6-7 of the reel i wanted available. He had no clue what i was talking about, so i explained to him what that meant. He then said if its not on the shelf we dont have it. He said he would check the website which after a lengthy pause he said 'hmmm......yeah well i guess they dont make those'. So i left. When i got home i decided to check the website myself. It was the third item down, i selected 6-7 and i still use that reel today.

Many of the workers in the fishing section at BPS in springfield are way past youngsters.  Most of the time I like to prowl around on my own finding stuff but in the last couple of years I have been unable to find some items and had to ask a salesperson, they shuffled along right to them.  Even the younger folks working the depth finder counter have been pretty good at providing information.  I would say the gun counter is the weakest, but it is more likely that they and I have different biases.  Not sure anyone even works in camping though.
