ness Posted July 1, 2019 Author Posted July 1, 2019 Interesting read. Thanks for sharing 3 hours ago, Gavin said: What the vast majority of Speyside whiskies have in common, however, is the absence of strong peat flavour. Macallan is in that group and fits what I was told. These suit my tastes better. 3 hours ago, Gavin said: There are eight working distilleries on Islay. Most of them produce strong, peaty and smoky whiskies, which divide whisky drinkers into two camps: love or hate. As I mentioned, Laphroig is a hate for me. Interesting to see I’m not alone Had a taste of 2 Gingers Irish Saturday night. Pretty good stuff. Also had a 1/2 of a pudding shot, 1/2 of a Jell-O shot and a 1/2 of a PBR at a shin dig my brother and a friend hosted. We left fairly early. Would have been fun to observe the going’s on later. 😄 John
rps Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 At an out of town rugby party I attended as the designated driver for the players I coached, I once witnessed something I have not seen any other time. A line of maybe 10 people, alternated male and female, played pass the jello shot, no hands allowed. Things went downhill from there. ness 1

Gavin Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I cant tell the difference between Highlands and Speysides.. Cant stand Laphroig, but I can tolerate Caol Isla.
fishinwrench Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Creative and/or exploratory drinking is not for me. If I notice someone with otherwise decent taste buying a 2nd or 3rd bottle of something I may give it a try, otherwise I just stick with familiar labels. All brown beer gives me a headache, and all expensive bourbon makes me sleepy. Gin and Vodka give me hic-cups. snagged in outlet 3 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I grew up drinking wine in an Italian family. Absolutely love it but through the years I get a wicked headache from the stuff. Bud light or any light beer really is all I drink anymore. Never could stomach whiskey, bourbon scotch or whatever the it is. Same for clear booze.
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I've really been enjoying 7up and American Honey, or Jim Beam honey. Very good mix.
