Larry Eby Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Took my 14 YO navigator out Saturday from Aunts. Got as far up white at the channel swing just out and up from Baxter. Found no love anywhere we stopped along the white. Water temp 68-69. First open day to fish for FLW crew. And they were there in numbers. Last stop in return to ramp was railroad. Wind had picked up quite well. Threw all the usual items one would with a strong wind. I blanked on bass but caught a nice eye on one of the swings. My son caught several shorts bass and one nice crappie. So we did have a decent fish fry last night on eye and crappie. Donna G and cheesemaster 2

I caught 2 largemouth that had sores all over them. Pic attached. What is that stuff? Looks like a typical fall fungal infection. Fairly common. Hammer time and Champ188 2
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Yesterday was about as tough as it gets. I caught 2 bass in an 8 hour tournament, luckily one was 16" the other was 13". big one was on a real deep diving crank the other on a spinnerbait. Also caught a bonus 21" walleye that is nestled nice in my freezer next to his neighbor Bull Shoals walleye. Everyone was having a tough day, even the "pros" in the wrapped boats with TV screens, power poles, and of coarse the Buffs they were wearing on an 82 degree day cheesemaster, Donna G, InPiney and 1 other 4

Thought about coming down this upcoming weekend but the FLW boys (200+ boats) will be launching out of State Park. So I am not fighting those guys plus the already crowded dam area on a weekend. Think I will just come down the following weekend and hopefully the temps get back to normalcy. ABK, you did not miss anything by not coming down this weekend. We went out Saturday morning from Moonshine and headed into a couple of coves in long creek just past the State Park. Lots of pre-fishing going on. Saw boats from CA, SC & TX running and gunning in all those coves around there. They sure were pretty with their boat wraps and jerseys. Lol we only stayed out a couple of hours and after 3 short fish on a Ned we decided to head in and let the practice guys have the points. WT was 68.5 at 7:30am and the color was pretty good. LD Fisher Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 RATS!! Nope, not the fishing lure! Finally get a break and am headed down for a quite weekend and some fishing and now I'm hearing that "the fishing is really tough" and "there is an all states fishing tournament". Guess I'll just pick up snakes off the roads this weekend as a community service! ? Oh well, I'll grab a jersey and stay in the upper Kings. Still can't beat time on the lake and fall colors!!!!! magicwormman 1

Mike I was speaking of THIS weekend (Nov 4-6) . Was going to come down but looked at the MO regatta and the FLW guys will be beating the lake to a froth and I am not big on lake latte. Especially since they will be launching from State Park....directly across from Beardsley. NO THANKS! On top of all that, the fishing is tough unless you are fortunate enough to happen across some feeding fish on top or below on the spoon deal. Sounds like most of that action is up the White anyhow. Will wait another week and hopefully temps drop into the low 60s/upper 50's soon. Probably not going to happen as it is going to be 84 tomorrow (potential STL record for that date) and mid 70s the rest of the week here. Need a handful of upper 30 degree nights in a row to zap that water temp down quickly to where it belongs for this time of year. Champ188 and LD Fisher 2
