I, too, was enjoying and innocently attempting to contribute to the spinning reel discussion until Champ had to bring up his spending habits relative to golf balls and then Snagged had to go and post a link to a golf ball article ONLY to be further compounded by Abkeenan sticking his nose in the middle of the whole mess further igniting my already short fuse and, well, I just snapped.

So there.  I'm sorry.

Darn tootin' I had a starring role in this derailment. What the heck is winter for anyway if you can't talk about fishin' and golf in the same thread?

Never cared for Golf but i use to fish in the Gulf all the time when i lived in Florida...

I know a lot of guys dont care for lews spinning reels, however i picked up two tournament metal speed spin's. They are black and white and cost $80. We used them exclusively for neds last year with no problems. I was using the new Sunline braid, floro and their mono (out for a few yrs) and all lines worked well. One time we got line behind the spool somehow but other than that worked great!

That's good to hear big c. My bad experience with them was several years back when they were first re-entering the reel market. Sounds like they've corrected their problems.
