MOPanfisher Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Even more likely a drug deal gone bad, but unlikely it will make the news so the find out. Mitch f 1
jdmidwest Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Inside the waist band is a good place to carry on the water. Inside pocket of a vest or life jacket. Fanny pack or front pocket of a cooler works good. Most of the time in a boat or kayak, one is in the drybag. If wading, I carry it on me. In all the years I have carried, I have only used it once to stop an idiot from trying something on me. And it was totally by accident. Coming home late from work one night at an apartment I was staying at. Hopped out of truck, reached back in and grabbed the 45 Colt Auto. Turned around and heard "Oh shet, he has a gun". Tires were squalling and kids were running away before I knew it. Someone unknown to me had followed me home and was wanting to start something. Luckly, I never will know what. Lord knows how many times something was averted by open carry. I have no problem openly carrying in public on most streams. Only when there are big crowds does the pistol go undercover. Most modern finishes will survive submerged and come out ok with a good air dry and re lube. Sweaty salt is harder on Blued finishes. But most are stainless with some kind of protective finish on them that is durable and rust free. Internals are different, many untreated parts there. All firearms are designed to be used in all weather. But like a car, they need some care to keep them in good shape. Imagine walking up to the fire pit and finding something like that or arriving while it was in progress. There are many evil people in the world. Then there are the lowlifes that just feel they should make a living off others hard work. It happens, everywhere, everyday, to everybody. JestersHK Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I may be reading Smalliebigs wrong but I think its more of how someplace where as kids and young adults growing up we would never expect to see or find that kind of thing. Don't get me wrong I know it has happened in the past and will continue to keep happening in the future sadly. As his topic states its just CRAZY out there sometimes. Despite what the statistics say I do not feel as safe doing anything out in public as I did even 10 years ago whether thats fishing, hunting, going to a baseball game etc. IMO in my short 36 years of age society has changed and continues to change not for the better. joeD Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I was wrong, of course. Apparently a male torso. Still.
jdmidwest Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Male between 5'8" and 6'2" so the autopsy shows. Take the pieces them together and put a tape to them. What a job. Been there a few days too. Old plug Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Only thing wth running round woth a side arm you look like someone looking for touble. If you thnik your scaring everybody your dead wrong. Matter of fact they should thank you for showing your hand. That way they can shoot you dead wth the wepon you never knew they had and are home free with the castle doctrine. if you do shoot someone you better be very very sure you are your clear. If you mess up the courts are going to put you up there in jeff city with some really tough people that are going to want trouble with your every waking minute.
MOPanfisher Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 It's not about fear of you being the one abducted etc. It's more about happily pulling to a public early/late and seeing a couple folks at a Bon fire not an unheard of occurrence, or them being at the take out point or at your chosen camping spot and suddenly there they are and you now have seen them. They have already demonstrated their concern for human life, likely someone they knew, why be a second victim. And castle doctrine doesn't even remotely apply unless you are attempting to enter someone's home or possibly their vehicle, tent or camper, if you are defending yourself you better be clear in what you can and cannot do.
mreed81 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Drug deal gone bad? Doubtful. Tough times nowadays. Drug dealers can't even catch a break from gossip, bad press and rumors.

Everything that gets stolen or broke into around here gets blamed on "crackheads", but the truth is that the folks doing meth can't stand to sit around eating tater chips and playing video games, they gotta be up DOING SOMETHING. Not only do most of them work, they usually do quality work and don't mind overtime one bit. Might be hard for most folks to accept that, but it's true. Meth is a nasty NASTY drug.... but bygod it sure gets $#it done. Greasy B 1
