kjackson Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 If you're really interested, there is a lot of info on the Trapper hooks on the web, including how-tos on rigging. There also is another hook company that started recently using the same idea of reconfiguring the bend to hold better...and it so impressed me that I've forgotten the name. Zone maybe? I can't see myself using either when I have a backlog of EWGs and Tru-Turns.

I have a locker full of plastics. Nearly all in just a couple colors and all sizes. That applies to weights and hooks as well. Maybe you would like to come here amd teach me how to use all that stuff huh. I fish Ktchup. I just not talk about my trips amd tell where when and how, Plus pictures. I could really care less what anyone thinks of it. grizwilson 1

Those hooks may be junk but how do you without trying them first. A teacher i am not, but i am more than willing to go fishing with you any time Daryk Campbell Sr 1

I guess I'm just old school. I don't need another offset hook design and it doesn't appeal to my eye. I have no plans to try them, but I'm not going to knock anyone that wants to try them. dtrs5kprs 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Old plug Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I get tired of looking at NEW THINGS in fishing. So many of them or just repeats of what has been around for many years. I believe the last great change was the introduction of plastics. I Cannot help but feel like it is a attempt to just rip people off. As far as this hook goes. When I look at that thing I do not see anything that would come clean hooking. Best hooking hooks for the most part are wide gap hooks . There is just to much in the area of that hook point to believe it will hook cleanly I use plastics mostly becaise I can flip amd pitch them. Using plugs and spnners requires a lot of casting and retrieving and it exerts presure both ways on your shoilder. I might be able to do that again soon but I do not want to return to it. On LOZ I never will have to. I learned that except for the force exerted ( most of the time) you guys are stressing your shoulder about as bad as a baseball pitcher. The more you fish and cast the faster your wearing it out. My shoulder lasted well into my 50s after that I had some pain and a lot of trouble with hand going to sleep then later my ability to hit the target got bad.The past two years the shouldef has really not been functional. More than a couple hours of fishing a day was the limit. It can be very a miserable deal. I just want to tell you all if any of you are having these problems Your body is warning you to lighten up. You might not last 76 years as I did. And your recovery might not be as good. We all have different pain levels aswell. In my case It takes a lot. I had surgery for a total reverse replacement 3 weeks ago last Wedensday. The picture is what its like. You would think it would stop me from fishing for the rest of the winter. It did for two weeks. I have ben fishing 4 time off the docks fishing straight down. The problem there is fishing just to be fishing ( catchimg anything or not) has been a addiction my entire life.
moguy1973 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Looks like my scar. Just on the other side. Props to you for fishing 2 weeks after it was done. I was laid up for at least a month before doing much of anything. dprice Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Reminds me of a joke : An Amish man and his son went to the city and walked into a tall building. They came upon some doors. An older woman walked up and pressed a button. The doors opened and she went in. The son asked his father what that was for and he said, "I don't know, let's watch what happens."A few minutes later the doors opened and a beautiful blonde woman walked out. The man turned to his son and said "Let's go get your mother!" Mitch f, Johnsfolly and fishinwrench 3 Dprice priceheatingair.com
