Members CarpSlayer Posted February 9, 2017 Members Posted February 9, 2017 I went down to k dock Tuesday we were there for about 8 hrs. We were fishing for crappie we caught a 20 in rainbow trout caught some walleye no keepers and caught a nice smallie and some short large mouths. Stopped by a spot before we left and started catching crappie but all were shortys. Anyone have any good news on crappie white bass or walleyes
JohnP Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Haven't fished for anything else but the crappie bite on the new MDC brush piles has been good but 99% have been short. Most of the keepers I've caught have come about 5 to 10 yds away from the brush piles but have been few and far between. Tuesday caught 37 in a hour and half with 4 keepers. Caught fish off every pile i hit. Plastic crappie tube jigs and it didn't seem like the color mattered a whole lot but best bite came on a off white milky colored soft plastic jig with black flake in it. Cast around the piles and let it slow fall back to the boat. Most never felt the fish hit just that heavy feel when they swim with it or a twitch in the line. magicwormman, Quillback, BilletHead and 5 others 8
Ham Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Dang guys y'all are killing it! That does it! I'm upgrading my electronics and giving crappie more time. I'm a thump junkie. I love a crappie jig bite. vernon 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
