Spent a few hours over at Viney today, tossed the Ned, basically throwing it out as far as I could, slowly hopping and dragging it back to the bank. Got bites from as far out as the end of my cast all the way up to the bank. Had one of those days where I got a lot of bites, but only banked about half of them, 16 in total with 2 keepers. It was fun, I love fishing out of my boat, but had a good time fishing off the bank. With the water being low, there is a lot of bank to fish around Viney, I only fished a bit of it. Here's a shot of the best stretch of bank, just some rocks, but it does drop off to about 20 feet not far off the bank. Also caught a few on bare gravel. Quillback Great job! Think of working the bank as continuation of your rehab program. Bet that trip was a lot more fun than what you were doing at PT. vernon, magicwormman and Quillback 3

I spent about 3.5 hours yesterday on my feet fishing and that was enough to get my knee barking at me. magicwormman, huntest, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4

merc1997 Bo Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 quill, you pretty much proved than many times, no one fishes an area through enough and do not catch what is there. sometimes having to fish a limited area is good for us. pretty darn good fishing from the bank. bo dtrs5kprs, mixermarkb, Champ188 and 1 other 4

Fish24/7 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Nice catch from the bank Jeff! I've been bank fishing Bull all winter. I've dropped 12 lbs since November from reduced calories and walking. The bite has been hit or miss but I can't lose weight while just sitting in a boat fishin'. Diabetes is knocking on my door and still being 40lbs overweight doesn't help that. There's a place I fish frequently that has a paved circle drive. After I fish a couple 3 hours I make a dozen laps around the circle then head home. I haven't used my boat since October, but that will change very soon. dtrs5kprs and Sore Thumbs 2
Champ188 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Congrats on the weight loss. Not easy for sure. Fish24/7 1
Fish24/7 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 thanks buddy, walking while fishing is about the only way i'll exercise and I get to be outdoors.. Fitness centers just aren't my style. If only the cookie monster in me would calm down some I think the weight would come off a little faster hehe. dtrs5kprs, Champ188 and bfishn 3
Quillback Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 Yep 24, congrats on the weight loss. I need to drop a few dozen myself. You're right, banking it can burn some calories. Fish for a couple of hours, next thing you know you're half a mile away from your vehicle. Fish24/7 1
