QB and I both live smack dab between Grand and The Rock. It can be a tough decision which way to go sometimes. The thing I like is the diversity --- between the two lakes, you can fish polar opposite patterns in the same seasons.

And some of you thought an old right-wing conservative like me couldn't even spell d-i-v-e-r-s-i-t-y.

Quit messing with me. I played bad golf yesterday and today both. Was planning to fish tomorrow and now they're calling for an 80% chance of severe storms. :(

I apologize - not that I'm above kicking a guy when he's down but it just doesn't appeal to me at the moment.  We played Friday and Saturday and it was nothing to brag about for us either.  Danged wind has been 25-30 all day AND all night for what seems like forever.  We were hoping to fish today as well - would have been the first time out this year - but it's just brutal out there.  It's blowing so hard that it woke me up about 200 this morning and I couldn't go back to sleep.  It sounds like the roof's gonna come off at any second.  Even took my flag down Saturday so it wouldn't get shredded.

I think that a thunderstorm would actually seem like a break right now.  Besides, storms are one of my favorite things about the spring and I haven't seen lightning or heard thunder in about six months so I'm ready!

Hope you get back out soon - for either activity - and I'm sure the golf God's are done messing with you now for at least a couple of days!

Well, the rain never materialized but it would've been purt-near impossible to fish today in that wind. As Bill said, there were 4-footers on The Rock, which means there would've been 6-footers on Grand. Even an old windbag like me doesn't want to be out there in that.

I've been actively fishing the Rock since 81, some of my best days have been on the foulest weather possible! Ask anybody who's put in the time on horrible weather days, the Rock comes alive and many "life time" trips are mentioned, and reveared!

I fished BSL with Kris Nault. We caught about 40 with a bunch of really nice ones. The wind was stupid bad.
