I imagine a lot of OA members would stack their money on me. LOL Champ, something you might want to know about me, I've never backed down from a challenge. lol It just tickled me that the PM I received, without knowing the rules "my bad" said that all of my posts had been deleted without warning, and that if I commented again without my full name in my profile, then I would be banned. So at that point I took it upon myself, to post it where others could see. I'm not much for hiding behind a computer. Sucks for the other members there, because they will never have the chance to meet someone as cool, handsome, funny, that catches 10 pounders every outing, like myself. Sad thing is, it's a treasure trove of information, guarded by bad attitudes. magicwormman, abkeenan, DChance and 1 other 4
abkeenan Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I belong to BBC as well. Didn't join until like 2012. I used to post somewhat regularly but the last 2 or 3 years I haven't much at all. Just too much nonsense, bickering and honestly TOO MUCH INFORMATION. Some guys get on there and spill their guts about pretty personal issues. Stuff that IMO shouldn't be aired on the internet to a bunch of guys you don't even truly know. Then you have the yahoo's who get on their and ask for legal, investment, property, tax, etc. advice. Boy...that sounds like a real good plan.....asking a bunch of loosely connected people that share the love of fishing for professional consultation on pretty dang significant matters. Don't get me wrong there is a TON of great info there. Probably 1,000 x the amount of members over there as here that can lend a hand with opinions on tackle, gear, boat, motor and all fishing related stuff. But at the same time it a free-for-all over there and one out of every fifty posts is actually about fishing, in the lounge anyhow. I've also done a fair amount of buying and selling stuff on the for sale boards on BBC. Never had a problem and that is probably the best feature they have. I prefer OA over BBC by a land slide. More regional/local, more personal, less BS, people are more genuine and I just feel all warm and cozy over here. mixermarkb, Hunter53, DChance and 1 other 4
Dutch Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 What forums have you guys been using? I have been a member for several years and haven't seen any of what you are discussing. Maybe it is because I mostly am on the boards that are about my boat, motor and electronics. I have gotten a ton of good info from them. 96 CHAMP 1
176champion Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I usually hang out in the Champion boat section when im on BBC.. 96 CHAMP 1 I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
gabe Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I get on BBC on the Ranger forum and for For Sale forum mainly. I have noticed the moderators are pretty strict and don't have much tolerance. I have bought a few rods on the rods for sale forum and have had good luck with all of them. Lots of good information but still Enjoy this forum more. dtrs5kprs and abkeenan 2

It happens all too often in the boat, and especially motor forums, too. Lot of whizzing over an extra mph, my boat's better than yours, my boat color is better than yours...on and on. I pop in to look at some of the tackle sales, custom rod pics, and if I break something weird. Otherwise, I'll pass.
Guest Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Ketchup bought those rods from me on Sunday. True story. Its rare that I meet somebody & immediately have a serious life conversation. Dudes a genuine down to earth guy, I felt like I made a friend on Sunday after about 5 minutes. It really made me feel good that he was donating my dad's rods to those kids. I actually thought about it today while I was standing in academy looking at fishing line & thinking about my own son. Those guys over at BBC need to quit banging on their keyboards & acting like petulant children. I'm yet to meet a bad person from OAF in real life. God has a way of putting the right people in your life at the right time. This was one of those times.
