Got my trailer back, must have picked up this hitchhiker on the way home.  I'll be visiting the tire shop tomorrow.

Yuck. Did that a couple of years ago. Thank goodness for tandems.

I finally switched to 10 ply rated tires on my truck because of rock chips and nails etc.  No problems since.  Of course that won't help your trailer.  Yep plugs, plug kits, and a 12 volt compressor.  Have helped several folks at out of the way ramps fix tires, oddly though it has never been a trailer tire.  Plugs will get you home, patch will fix it.

Better than having a blowout on the trailer.  Happened twice in a year for me.  Once was while it was sitting in a parking lot.  Cheap tire and blew out the sidewall.  Other time was on the road.  Thank god for spare tires.

Tandem trailer has saved me countless times. I know that it's twice the maintenance, but have limped home several times on three wheels because of bearing failure. I personally wouldn't own a  nice bass boat without a tandem trailer.

Plug kit is also a must and a spare set of bearing, tools and grease if you venture far from home.

I changed my last Tahoe/boat trailer tire about ten years ago.  After about getting killed by the boat trailer, the ginormous Tahoe tire/wheel and oncoming traffic I decided to add tow insurance to my vehicle/boat policies.  While it ain't happened since when/if it ever does again I'm using my cell phone to call the professionals and gonna let THEM do the heavy lifting.

I had a nail in my truck tires in two consecutive weeks not too  long ago. The first one I had a friend try to take tire off and patch it. He scratched the wheel with his machine. The second one I plugged. Ha

Funny how trailer tires attract sharp metal objects.  This is the 3rd flat I have had to change out in the 5 years I have owned this trailer.  Truck tires have been fine.
