Haris122 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 This ever happen before, that they closed it all off? Last time like Daryk mentioned, Telegraph was still open, if only barely.

This will be the first time no one can get across the Meramec. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Haris122 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Not to take this flooding lightly, but presuming there are some breaks in the rain the next few days, where would one go on the Jefferson county side of this, to fish a little where access is allowed to the public. Clearly I'm not talking about flooded rivers, but that aside I don't know what's nearby that isn't flooded. The lake at Arnold I bet is flooded, don't think there's any way to get to the lone fabick lake off of Bowles (for me at least) and especially not the main two, the one lake in Festus (West Festus lake maybe?) seems too close to Joachim creek if that's still flooded. Joachim Creek near Bates Memorial Park is probably still flooded. Am I wrong with any of these, and if not is there anywhere else fishable? ozark trout fisher 1

I've come behind you and tripped over the guilt twice now. I fished today ? (after work) and you're gonna cause me to break a leg. ? awhuber, Riverwhy, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 4
ozark trout fisher Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Eh, guilting people is rarely productive. I agree we should be helping those in need. If you want to post instructions for where/how to do that, I'm sure you would get a favorable response. But you can't really shout someone down for asking a fishing question on a fishing forum. awhuber, WoundedOne, Daryk Campbell Sr and 2 others 5
moguy1973 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I would help out if I had time but I'm on the north side of the river and all the sand bagging efforts are on the south side which has been shut off by closed bridges for the most part. Valley Park is the only place on the north side, but well, they are pretty much the ones that have caused a lot of the flooding in other places and they already have a nice big overly tall levee to protect them so they can manage... Haris122 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Quote Think you could spend an hour our two helping those in need out instead of fishing. Yeah like ozark trout fisher said, if you had something in mind why not guide me a little more specifically to it. Daryk Campbell Sr and ozark trout fisher 2
fishinwrench Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 The prisons and county jails are full of guys that could be helping. I'm not sure how it is there, but around here if you just randomly start going up to people offering to help them, you'll get a visit from a deputy questioning your motive. People are scared of strangers these days, in case you haven't noticed.
