When will it end, with all the rain and storms we have been getting and by the looks of it most of next week is more rain coming...Power outages all over Missouri and big hail also, one guy posted a picture if a hail stone and it covered pretty much his whole hand, high winds 60+ mph.....Everyone be careful out there and be safe..

Monsoon down here in KC at the moment!..........storms last night and KY3 said egg size hail nearby somewhere close; but I don't recall where. Water is a funky greenish/bronze color with the sun shinning through it. Visibility about 2 feet. Mature tree half submerged floating perpendicular halfway back in schooner creek.........no other mentionable debris.

-

No fishing for us; just idle speed tubing with 2 little girls out of everyone's way. Water temp 73'ish until about 9:00am; when a lot of other boaters came out. That's when we chugged back in, off the water.

-

I know this dead horse gets beat a lot.........but boy; those folks pulling kids on tubes/waterskis that just fly around with wreckless abandon; are concerning. I realize they have just as much right to be on the water, but they still surprise me for some reason, every holiday we come down. I can't believe how clueless and dangerous some of these folks are with clearly overloaded boats; or just the complete disregard for anyone's safety while buzzing around. I'm certainly not perfect, but at least my heads constantly on a swivel, paying attention to others, which is half the battle........but I can't say the same for some of these folks.:-(

-

No big deal overall though; the goofballs can generally be avoided. Plenty of other fun to be had down here with the family. We come whenever scheduling allows. Holidays or not.

-

But, like 176 said; be careful and be safe.:-)

Sadly, most of those who own a boat are infrequent users and clueless. Their attention focuses solely on themselves and their own and not on others or their setting. The best analogy I know is to go into Sams on a Saturday, holiday afternoon when the sample vendors are out. Watch the family packs gather in front of the free food; watch the family packs gather to debate which cut of meat to buy; watch the husbands and wives stop suddenly to do whatever. None of them give a flying jump about courtesy or others. What is worse, if you "confront" them by saying excuse me or any other action, they become belligerent.

I developed a lake mantra for these holidays -> .

This is definitely not good. Here at HI we have thunder and hard rain mixed with small hail right now. My Corgis are guarding me by wrapping themselves around my feet.

Rain forecasted all next week, this is not good at all.  This area can't catch a break.

We left BPS in Springfield on our way back to St Louis from Table Rock just after the storms went through there and followed them all the way back up I-44.  Saw some damage left behind by a confirmed tornado around MM123 on the highway that tore the roof off a trucking company building and threw some sheet metal into the median.  Crazy lightning in front of us most of the way back too.  It was a really fast storm as we were going 70mph and stayed just on the back edge of the storm and never really caught it pretty much all the way up to Cuba where we finally got into some rain on the north end of the storm.
