Not jet boats on Taney  JET BOAT TOURS!...in fact thinking about my NEXT boat being a jet drive to fish lower reaches of the Spring & Neosho river.......and not all humans "mess up" wildlife/scenery just SOME of them via certain activities or the "I don't care...do what I want to do" attitude, I leave with more trash than I take to the lake...

I complain about over exploiting via bow fishing shooting bighead, silver "carp" fine take all you can, turn them into cat food.....common carp and buffalo different story.....lots more people fish for those than you think....imagine your fav bass spot where you catch lunkers, then you show up one day to 100's of fish floating....or you know 100 people taking a dump under your deer stand

as well as I am 100% sure most of u that Gripe and Complain dont have the Same training or Licensing that the Jet boat Operators and Ducks Ride Operators have 

 

It would be wrong to make those assumptions if you knew my racing history, its also hard for those reading this and threads like this to see someone with a hand full of posts that for all the world looks like they have a stake in a bar on the lake or drive a jet boat tour vs people with a long history in this areas outdoor community that wade in on these subjects.

Yup, Share with people on how to catch more and bigger fish..and hopefully encourage them to catch photo and release the bigger fish so more catch say a 4pound + smallmouth...or 40 pound common carp...even 2 pound bluegills....

I've become very used to the peace and quiet of the river. Where I can float down in my paddle craft and not be bothered by the noise of the lake. I don't know that I want jet boats on my rivers when I'm out trying to enjoy the peace and quiet. I think we need regs banning jet boats on rivers historically used for floating. No reason I have to listen to the noise you are creating.

Seen so many changes in my Teens I seen the first No Trespassing Sign because people not wanting others on their property during Deer season. Paid for my first farm Trapping and running Coon Hounds back in early '70's. All the women had Coon Fur Collars on their Coats, I loved it. Remembered people keeping Stringers of Large Mouth Bass .

Just the other day had Water Patrol go by me on the Niangua River using a Jet Boat. And now MDC stopping me from hunting Wild Hogs on Public Lands.

I will guarantee you if you have something you enjoy in time others will change it and take your fun away.

I remember when Branson was only around 300 people, one Movie Theater sign in front said No Food or Drink in Theater. Silver Dollar City your Main Rides were Train and Stage Coach. Went down there every weekend and enjoyed it.

We have been few times, stayed couple nights, went to a couple Shows and had fun.  The other day talked it over with my wife about going down there. She said she rather go to our Cabin by Truman Lake. Anymore we go down there we like Forsyth better.

And it was 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

For the past nearly 30 years Taneycomo has been my main fishing water. I just don't see the need to post about every fish, every trip, every tournament.

It is quite interesting to randomly go back through many threads on both the Taneycomo forums, and even the trout forum and see the loudest complainers about the jet boat conspicuous by their absence. Do you, or have you ever fished Taneycomo? Especially from a boat where the jet boat is operating.

The closest thing I have to a "steak" in a bar on the Landing would be a ribeye at Big Whiskeys. As mentioned before, I have no connection in any way with the Branson Jet Boat. In fact, when the first information came out that it would be going "up" and down Taneycomo I was opposed to it. Down lake should be no real problem. I do have an issue on demonizing it through uninformed, and false predictions of doom and gloom caused by horrendous wakes. It just is not going to happen.

I guess it's just that even though my septaugenarian body may be deteriorating, my brain hasn't sunk to the "get off my lawn" mentality.

That an't nothing went to Managed Deer Hunt at Peck Ranch they had Road Block up giving Tickets for no Seat Belt.

Here they had Road Block up. 3/4 of the people going in were either being arrested or Ticketed and half the people on the river couldn't leave because they knew they would be arrested.

Personally I like it when they set up roadblocks at places like Niangua take outs.  Those drunken idiots would otherwise be on the road with my wife, or son, or daughter and grandson. I certainly won't she'd any tears for them.  Also glad the MSHP folks are on the river and visible, don't care of they are on jet skis or giant trained otters.  I have set through a few road blocks but other than a little lost time I have yet to have an issue.
