WTH?  On top of that, half were probably drunk.  Why would anyone in their right mind want any part of that?  Even IF I had that kind of $.... no thanks.  I can't help but think we are all in for a major humbling in America.  Thankfully, if it happens we will still be able to fish and take care of our families.

Two of my buddies here at work were at the shoot out.  They both have 30' boats.  They thought someone capsized in that fiasco.

The Lake Expo News was proud to announce on their FB page that the Shootout raised 200k.

Several repliers were quick to point out that the amount of property damage grossly dwarfed their piddly 200k. Seriously!  They caused 10,000,000.00  (light-side guess) in property damage and then openly brag to the public that they raised 200k in the process.   What in the Sam Hell ?

Honestly, the dock companies whose boats I service have all stopped answering their phones and/or returning messages.  There's just no sense in it because as of now they are completely booked into the Winter of 2019.  Yep, if you call for dock repair today you either buy a brand new dock or you go on a list for 3 years.

"Yay, American Ethanol ran 204 mph!"

Big frikken deal !     😒

This lake is so out of control it boggles my mind.  It just has to stop. It HAS to.

Wow, Deadliest Catch has nothing on that.    Was the Shoot Out a drag  or Hydro planes like the 80"s?

Or was it a tourney start?:o

The "Shoot Out" ( which is now televised across Missouri in major markets  ! ) is a single boat at a time running for top speed past a radar gun.   LMAO ;):P while watching it when numerous boats with ginormous engines could only attain top speeds in the 50mph range when accelerating from a partially on-plane start over a 3/4 mile course.  $200 Entry fee and an additional $50.00 for each subsequent, "timed" pass !

The organizers eliminated Bass Boats from competing by having the rule state "nothing with a hull shorter than 22 feet. ( Guess the high-dollar, loud-boat, owners didn't want to be embarrassed)

I can't say for sure exactly when all that ridiculous wake-caused water was in the picture....just assuming (?) it was taken when all the lined-up spectator boats left the area at the end of the event from where they ran the "shoot-out".

Sounds like an opportunity for a hungry Attorney to file a lawsuit !  $10M in property damage ?  Charity or not (which needs to be audited ) that event is a public nuisance and that amount of damage proves it.

Wife and I where watching from atop a bluff at 27 mm from about 5:15 to a little after 6. There was a no wake until 5:30 and the destruction them boats made when the no wake was lifted was crazy. Boat docks tore loose and bobbing 3-4 foot up and down. Waves crashing over sea walls like an ocean surf. Not sure what the answer to the problem is (well I do but it will never happen). Like everyone knows there is just to much money being made so nothing will be done. I cannot believe that they have not been sued yet for all the property damage.

Who would you sue..The organizers of the event...the people that own the boats...The COE for granting a permit for the event to happen??

I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything!
