I don't think MDC are idiots, I think they are really good at propaganda and at creating things to keep themselves on the payroll.  Milking the geese. Ignorant folks couldn't pull that off as good as they do.

Two hybrid stripers may or may not be able to make babies, but hybrids most definitely do interbreed successfully with white bass, and if you come fishing with me this Fall I'll prove it to you. A pure White bass is getting more scarce every year on the 4 ends of LO that I fish regularly.
