David Unnerstall Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 It is time for my buddy Bob and my fall fishing trip. One year he takes me fly-fishing and the next I take him bass fishing. I have the redneck/mopar entourage heading to LOZ in the Niangua arm. I have my six rods rigged with a buzz bait (my cousin swears by them on LOZ – his license plate even spells out “BUZ BAT”), a tandem spinner bait, jig and pig, motor-oil rubber worm, road runner on a spinning rod and the NED rig (I must have gotten ahold of the koolaid at some point). Mitch f and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

Good Luck on your fall LOZ trip. Sounds like you are well armed. Looking forward to the report!
bjovan Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 My guess is reports will be slim till after next weekend.
Bushbeater Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 I fished a bit Friday and Sat. on the Niangua Arm and bass fishing was tough. Lots of Whites around though and if you find a feeding school you can have a blast. Good Luck
fishinwrench Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Lots of bass suspended under docks and breakwaters on the main. Backend bite is still sketchy but you can't afford to ignore it because the one or two bites you get are likely to be good ones. The Crappie guys out trolling cranks are still picking up 4+pounders routinely so there are still alot of suspended bass hanging out in the middle of nowhere. That's all I know about them right now.

Blazerman Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 I have some friends that were fishing this past weekend and they said they tore them up. Caught a bunch of bass including some really good ones. But the wild thing was they caught them all on beetle spins and rooster tails. And the key was using light line. They were only getting the fish on their crappie rods with 4 and 6 lb line. So right now I have decided to use crappie rods with light line for the big bash bass and I would suggest everyone else fishing it do the same. Royal Blue, snagged in outlet 3, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 2 2
Members fishin_addict Posted October 2, 2017 Members Posted October 2, 2017 David, your arsenal sounds pretty good to me. I'll be way up the osage next weekend which seems to fish different than the Niangua the past couple falls that I've fished there. For me, Soft plastics have beat out the buzz baits, cranks, and A-rigs the last couple of years surprisingly. Let me know how it went for you.

Fishing is good for just catching fish right now but for the big ones I haven't a clue.
