I have a friend that he and his family will shoot squirrels out the windows with their bows. I wonder what the neighbors would think as they see the squirrels in the yard and then an arrow comes out of the window and sticks them to the ground.

He has another friend who can shoot them from their recliner out the window with a .17hmr or a .22 . He just walks to look out the window now and the tree rats scatter!

I like having a few squirrels around.  I don't wanna kill any of mine.  The birds of prey, black snakes, and feral cats keep the squirrel and mouse populations in check around here.

About the only "pests" I have are armadillos and a groundhog that keeps burrowing under the concrete floor of my shop..... but I kinda like him, we've given him a name and everything, so I can't kill him.  Coons and possums clean up my fish guts so I don't wanna kill them.   The armadillos and the birds that eat my mulberries and then poop all over my truck are toast though.   A few feral cats might get popped....but if my wife ever saw me shoot a cat she'd lose her freaking mind.

You got to eat what you shoot Wrench. Tell me what does a starling taste like? Chicken?  You know by law you are supposed to report all animals that are taken because of nuisance control to your local Conservation officer. European Starlings and English sparrows are not. Doubt pigeons have to be reported. i realize this probably chaps your rear but it is the law :) .

Probably tastes the same as a dove, and their shoulder feathers make for some sexy soft hackles.

I do have a retarded woodpecker that keeps hammering on my wood grain textured VINYL SIDING.  I'm pretty sure he needs eliminated from the gene pool.

There's also a Cardinal that fights with his reflection in our east side living room windows every morning about 8:30.  Pretty sick of his crap.

I have a buddy who lives in Arnold Mo. He is deadly with his air rifle. He lives in a subdivision out of the city limits. So he was complaining about the starlings and in the conversation I told him they sell starling feathers and skins for fly tying. Wasn't too many days later I get a package in the mail. He actually shot one, completely skinned the little critter, salted it and sent it to BilletHeadVille. He said he used an exacto knife. He keeps the squirrel population in check too . Cleans and eats all of them,

Well new OAF rules state that you can kill any fish or wildlife that annoys you.

Yes, yes and even if they are legal you get shamed if you do it. Then there are some that want invasive, non native things like carp protected and the same guy hopes zebra mussels become established so they will clean up streams. Takes all kinds and it makes for some interesting discussions,

Once again, the Cardinal sniping mission will have to take place when Sugarbritches is not here.

Black oil sunflower seed is the bait of choice. Baiting is illegal too. I think just for deer, turkey and waterfowl and other migratory species. You can plant corn and bush hog the patch for deer and turkey and dove but not for waterfowl,

I have one that beats his brains out on my metal chimney cap once in a while.  That thing is jacked up but I like to see him.  We don't shoot the squirrels either.  Rabbits and lots of them.  Even with a horned owl living behind the house.

4 tree rats in the front yard this morning, 7 or 8 more in the back. Need to thin them out so I have a shot at some home grown tomatoes next year. Have not seen a rabbit since we got our Aussie.
