Where is this "view new posts" button? I've been looking for one and along the way find myself reading old old stuff, interesting sometimes but old.

Top of the main forum list page I believe.  Doesn't work anymore though, it's just a direct link to everything MoCarp has posted for the last couple days, and those posts don't go away until you've read them.....then they come right back after he adds yet another lame stolen photo or redundant link.

Hopefully the ignore thing works to restore the simplicity of hanging out here.

in effect should you be able to shoot gamefish? harvest is harvest isn't it?

I have no problem really with how you take game as long as you eat all you take. I think gigging and netting are more efficient means of harvest overall.   Sportsmen have made regulations that benefit only their pursuit and are always happy to take others methods away.Very likely because historically only  the nobility and the very wealthy could afford to become sportsmen, club membership required.   Some day there will be people that say catch and release should be banned as it is sadistic and unnecessary abuse  of animals.  Trophy regulations are a step in that direction. Any restriction is a restriction and is only an incremental step towards banning.

They do that in other states...perhaps I would rather do that for LMB in places the have big heads and skinny bodies....I think small carp are great eating...personally smoked then flaked and mixed with mayo on crackers is fricking awesome

Wait, are you suggesting large mouth bass are edible? Don't think I've ever known anyone that ate them, remember back when I was a kid people always said they were full of worms. I assumed that was why catch and throw back was accepted.

They have been saying it for a long time, and it is actually a very good point that we quickly throw aside because it interferes with our pleasure.  I'd personally like to see it at least be mandatory immediate release just like we do for short fish that we can't legally keep.   I mean, if hauling fish around by the thousands every week of the year and releasing them later in the day at a boat ramp somewhere does no harm at all.... then why can't we do that with short fish?    Why must we release THEM immediately?

By not allowing that, they are admitting that it indeed does harm, but yet trying to get answers about excessive fish relocation, and suggesting immediate C&R for competitive fishing events gets totally ignored.  They won't even acknowledge that anyone ever mentioned it.     " We just don't talk about things like that"

Not just him.

There is this another expert that comments numerous times per hour on every subject on every post on this board.

There is a line in a Led Zepplin song that goes "I wonder how much there is to know?" I used to think that was a very deep thought. But now I know there is somebody that has accomplished the task.

You're so cute.

I am normally carrying on a conversation with guys that are at least somewhat interested.   Biggest difference here is that if one person here ever asked me to shut up because I was messing up their use of the forum I would apologize and do it.  I am aware that plenty of my content doesn't entertain everyone, but I try to be genuinely helpful at every opportunity to make up for that.   Calling me, and Al, and Mitch, and Marty, and anyone else that often has good answers to various things a "know it all" is showing your jealous side.   There's plenty I don't know about alot of topics.  ALOT.  But when it comes to fishing, boating, outdoorsy stuff...yeah I've usually got some answers because I've been doing it excessively all of my life.   Big deal.  I don't know it all, and that's why I'm here bouncing thoughts around, there's always the chance that I'll be accurately corrected and improve myself.   You hate me and wouldn't admit that you had ever learned anything useful from my posts, but I bet you have.   You, on the other hand, have  made me better at recognizing a backstabbing phoney that pretends to be a "friend".    And I thank you for that. It will certainly serve me well in the future.

You must be a music know it all...for knowing which LZ song that is.
