slothman Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I got some money to help with the purchase of a new trolling motor on my 19' Champion. Going to get either a Minn Kota Maxxum or a Fortrex. Ultrex just isn't in the cards, but they are sweet. Daryk Campbell Sr and Basfis 2

That are awesome. I just can't spend that kind of money on a trolling motor. Just a bit too rich for me. Maybe I'll hit the powerball someday. 😁

At least I think that is the reason for the corks on a string, maybe someone has an Aussie friend that can explain it. My buddy from down under didn't have a clue, but Wiki did (condensed); A cork hat is a type of headgear with corks strung from the brim, to ward off insects... ...Movement of the head causes the corks to swing, discouraging insects from swarming around the wearer's head. Might have to try that on my next (warm weather) walkabout. Quillback 1 I can't dance like I used to.
176champion Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 If i would have had those corks on my hat i had like that i wouldn't have lost it...my hat blew out of boat while running and when i turned around to go back and get it, it had sunk, so i may have to do this to my new hat. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
MOPanfisher Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 I was gonna order some HD baits but didn't get it done. So the closest I came to fishing gear is that my grandson who will be 4 in march got excited about getting a fishing rod for his birthday so he can "go fishing with Papa". Should be a good year to take a kid fishing, around here in my favorite places the crappie are very numerous as a result of the high lake levels in 2015. Now I gotta decode if I want to teach him to cast with a zebco 33 spin cast or just go straight to a light action spinning rig.
