waterpossum Posted January 23, 2018 Author Posted January 23, 2018 I have been talking with a friend that used to work for MDC. He thinks it's probably ant mounds, but like the rest of you a better picture by me would help.
straw hat Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 If it has an opening next to it then I would think it is excavation dirt from woodchucks, gophers or other burrowing animals, if not I would lean toward ants, moles or foraging animals like armadillos or bear but on those cases you can usually see the dig marks. If you think it might be from a digging animal then closely look at the mound, real close and you should be able to see any hairs left by the animal when digging. If you find hairs try and take a picture of them against a white sheet of paper and I should be able to identify it if I can tell the colors. MoCarp 1

BilletHead Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 So we have papa mole, mama mole and baby mole going down their mole hole. Papa mole says I smell sorghum . Farther down the hole mama mole says hey, I smell sorghum. They all travel a little farther when baby mole says, cue drum roll. Baby mole says all I smell is molasses BilletHead's dad loved that one and told all his grandkids the story.
