Guy was freezing and definitely afraid. I saw some get caught around Trophy Run, too, and couldn't get out safely as the water rose. They needed help and some guy up there assisted. I think it's a nice idea to have recreation like that, and sure they have every right to be there, but I agree with Travis. It's getting to be dangerous. I've been coming to Taney since I was a baby, and it's always been mainly a fishing lake, not a recreational lake like LOZ, TRL, etc. I saw a jetskier hauling around by Monkey Island, as fast as he could go, last week, too. I'm sure you all know how crowded it gets in that area. Why on earth would you want to jetski anywhere above the Gold Mine?? Too dang cold! Thanks for being close and helping the kayaker Ryan. Flysmallie Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 So what you are saying is that I shouldn't take my kayak and box of jerkbaits down there.

You took that out of my post? There is a giant difference in a couple guys in Kayak's fishing and 10 to 20 novice floaters going down the middle of the lake with no clue where they are, where they are headed, no boating rules and going right down the middle of the lake or widing out where they make it hard to pass them. I also showed some concern for very young children in 48 degree water with 4 units running. Nowhere in my post did I say guys fishing in Yak's. Hell yes go down in your Yak with your jerkbaits and post some darn reports for us to, we would love to see them! Johnsfolly and Flysmallie 2

I haven't kayaked there yet but if young kids are doing it I'm sure I can pull it off without upsetting anyone.

With the water off you could beach it on the gravel bar at the narrows and hammer down on them Flysmallie 1
JestersHK Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Phils still got a few Yaks to rent as well out of his place I think. I have yet to try them out though. I also fished with some guys from Springfield who Kayak at night, but only with the water off. I think a Yak at night with little or no flow would be awesome for chasing big browns. Def a buddy system though as it would up the need for safety. Flysmallie and Travis Swift 2

Gavin Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Looks like there are two kayak rentals in Branson. I'm not sure how many boats they rent but cruising in current on Taney, would be more appealing that propelling yourself on a lake. Canoes, Kayaks, and Motorboats usually don't mix well together. Just be glad that you don't have a bunch of Tubers to contend with!
