It's all good news for the anglers that can make the 80 man field in either league. Wonder what FLW is going to do? Would imagine it would thin out their talent even further with now 3 large "pro" circuits. Perhaps you or I now have a chance to break into the FLW pro circuit????? big c and Royal Blue 2
Champ188 Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 The only qualifications to fish the FLW Tour have always been within the folds of your wallet. If you've got the money, they've got the time. Or something like that. And a jersey. You must have a jersey. Actually having sponsors is optional. Just slap on whatever logos you like. 😂 Flysmallie, Gavin, big c and 1 other 2 2

Champ188 Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 I'd probably bet something north of $20 but south of $100 that they won't even be around in 2020. Just my opinion. Nothing more. Bassmod and Royal Blue 2

5bites Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Flw apparently announced that they aren’t making any adjustments other than raising entries and lowering payout. abkeenan 1

Bill Babler Posted September 21, 2018 Author Posted September 21, 2018 The FLW has been a gravy train when they are here for TR Lake Guides, as Champ said the only qualifications to fish is deep pockets. I have taken a boat load of those guys over the years and to say they pay well would be an understatement. Lots of those guys own huge companies and this is their means of escape. Took one guy during their non-off-limits practice period for 5 days. Gave him my bill and he doubled it and added a $100 a day tip. The FLW has been very, very good to us. Members randman011 Posted September 21, 2018 Members Posted September 21, 2018 lol, funny, I run a division of USA Bassin on Table Rock in the fall and was just thinking the past few days that I would talk to the founder of that trail and see if we could start an immediate release format here on TRock this fall. The only problem would be how to monitor it. Would we have each fish caught captured on smart phone while being weighed in by the fisherman who caught it? Would have to have all scales used checked before takeoff for accuracy. And we couldn't afford the ipads etc that all the boat officials use or 'boat officials' for that matter. I love the MLF format and watch every episode, some of them twice. lol. It would be an advantage to me and those of us that catch numbers of bass, but not necessarily 5 big ones etc. And, those of you who commented about how FLW, BFL and others respond to this, you're correct, I've watched them price out most of the good local fishermen, even on their home lakes because 1200 to 4000-5000 dollar entry fees already eliminate 95% of the non sponsored fishermen who must pay their own way for a chance to just get their entry fee back etc. thanks for the info and letting throw my tidbit of info into the discussion! Seth Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 I thought the BFL entry fees were only $250 for boater and $125 for non-boater? That's pretty standard for reservoir tournaments, right? You jump up to the Costa's etc then the price to play definitely increases.
