snagged in outlet 3 Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I spent 9 days in August this year and only threw jerks from the cable to the Landing. I caught some nice trout but a couple days I never saw a fish. I've had days where the big ones would follow up to the boat and circle it but never bite it. I've also had days where I caught multiple 20 inch plus fish on San Juan worms and eggs too. laker67, Daryk Campbell Sr, Seth and 1 other 4

I can just see it now waves of jugs like on grand floating down taney. An old lady fishing at the confluence of the White and Norfork about 40 years ago told me. You gotta use dead sculpins because a live one will crawl under the rocks and the fish don't detect it. She said it's just like cat fishing with bait only easier. Daryk Campbell Sr and laker67 2
MoCarp Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Chumming up a spot with chopped shad for a couple of weeks, then drift a dead bait rigged on a quick strike rig, Years ago in fisherman did an artical on huge browns from marginal water typically too warm yet these areas in tiny streams produced double digit fish on stickbaits and big inline spinners huge fish are hogs and eat eat and eat, dead and dieing trout are easy food sources yet using trout or parts as bait isn’t legal, so perhaps a shad dyed and scented to look like a stocker trout? the dyes are available, as far as smelling like a trout...I used to extract trout oil from trout scraps from cleanupsfor trapping purposes...scraps placed in an old ice chest (the kind with a spout) and a sheet of plywood cut to fit the inside of a chest...once I had saved enough scraps the fill the ice chest 1/3 full, I used a large box of kosher salt sprinkled over the scraps and placed the board over the mix, and place 4 bricks on the board tilled the chest by tipping it on the edge of picnic table so the drainage would drip into a large glass jar (1gal widemouth pickle jar) that was covered with fine window screen to keep out flies as the scraps got squished I would add bricks, best keep far from noses you don’t want to offend! this takes time, keep it out of the rain, once the process runs its course ( at least a week) place the jar as is in a dry place to age said oil injected in painted baits as well as scenting up with a squirt in a ziplock bag lots of info on oil infused dead baits used in the UK for giant pike MONKEYS? what monkeys?
MoCarp Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Here is another method, just don’t be surprise if the wife moves out! MONKEYS? what monkeys?

MoCarp Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 Fish caught on quick strike rigs (which are micro barn or barbless) are less damaged than on a plug but how would you know? You never read anything, and you jump to assumptions, kinda like many journalists these days where these methods started...fish are all released, one reason that they have such massive records do your homework 1st puts tampon back in both yalls mouth😎 MONKEYS? what monkeys?

liphunter Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I hear you Mo. That's the same way I make squirrel oil. Only, I don't have a brick. I just give the neighbor kid a quarter to stand in the cooler, on the plywood. He usually gets it all out before he passes out. Loves me some squirrel oil!!! MoCarp 1 Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
