Mentioned that to my wife yesterday, quill.

Had one fly right by my front window this morning heading due south.  Out fishing Table Rock a couple of days ago had several fly by, again heading south.

Found it at mile marker 10 this weekend.  Perfect end to a female doggy of a week.

Actually that chartruese goose house is found at 16mm GR.   You too have been sucked into the Real Estate salesman idiocy.

Mile markers are from that point to the dam.

GR= Gravois

IN= Indian

SP=Soap

GG=Grand Glaize

LC=Linn creek

BN= Big Niangua

LN= Little Niangua

OS= Osage

BOL= Bollinger

LB= Little Buffalo

BB= Big Buffalo

CC= Cole Camp

Have you ever noticed that on Truman there's no such place as "the 3mm of the Tebo", or "5mm of the Grand" ?

Wanna know why?  No real estate sales going on there. 😎

I love the way that cash strapped MODOT spends money they don't have on signs, mile markers every 2 tenths on interstate.

With today's electronics, why do they need river markers?

That's a good point.   If you don't have your cell phone then you can't call to tell anyone where you are anyway.....so what good is knowing what mile marker you are at?

I'm so old school though, if you were to text me GPS coordinates I wouldn't know what to do with them.

Saw a dozen or so monarchs fly by today on Beaver, not all at once, but one every once in a while.  Saw more butterflies than bass.

Pretty strong south wind later today, saw one monarch trying to fly up a cove that had a south wind right down the cove.  It just kept fluttering but not going anywhere, finally it kind of let the wind push it sideways and I lost sight of it.  My guess is they'll go sideways to try and get out of a stiff breeze and try and find some lighter wind to fly through.

My daughter had one of her best years. She reared and released over 20 monarchs and 5 swallowtails :D!
