Haven't seen too many successful hunts this year yet for archery at least from my buddies.  A friend of mine drew a lottery draw at Busch Wildlife, but its been too warm and the few days he's been out there were none moving...

Deer around me have been up and moving since the cold weather finally started to kick in.  Have a few hunts scheduled for week after next, but curious if anyones been out or had any luck?

Pulled my cards yesterday when I got back in town and as you say the deer are now moving pretty good...have a few big boys on film but no mature bucks in daylight yet....nowadays that is my “go” signal and usually occurs the last few days of October.  In my old age I look for quality or quantity stand time - once conditions are right I will then saddle up and sit until the right deer shows up...all day If it takes that long(and often does).   This approach has worked well for me and I always schedule time to hunt/process the first week of November.

Mrs. BilletHead and I have both shot eater does. May do one more? Like nomolites I really don't get too excited until the last week of this month and the first week of next month. Also been running my cameras. I am not so mad at them anymore and If I get a nice buck ok if I don't that is ok too.  Do not even buy a firearms tag anymore. Might if I get a wild hair. #TOOMANYHOBBIES.

Some big boys there BH.

I don't hunt them, but last evening driving out on the road from Indian creek on Beaver, probably saw 20 does and 1 buck, not all in one group, but several groups of them.  I've done that drive many a time, usually you'll see one or two, but not that many, so it seems to confirm the cold weather has them moving theory.

Saw a doe swim cross a cove also while fishing.

Those sure qualify for one of my arrows BH!  I hunt in St. Louis County and in my woods mature bucks are a bit shy but once that scent is in the wind that goes out the window and they will move during legal hours.  That also is the time when temps are cool enough to hang and cool them properly for at least 24 hours before taking them down, which I prefer.  My wife and I will eat 2-3 a year depending on any sausage making in the plan and I much prefer to take them bow hunting but have to admit to having a soft spot for my .50 TC as well...

Mike just the last few days I have got some daytime pictures.  Cows out there too that I have to fight with. Best cover scent available though. A stomp in the first cow paddy I see on way to stand.

We skin and quarter and put in cotton bags as fast as we can. Have an old fridge in garage where they cool well before processing.

I will start hunting this weekend and hit it gard tihrough rifle season. Our managed bow hunt at Peck Ranch is this weekend and I have high hopes of success with the forecast they are calling for.

We haven’t had anything worth getting excited for on the cams yet. That shoukd start changing any time now though.

I’ve taken 3 eaters. One of them yesterday. Have seen one good one and a few smaller bucks.  Only been able get get out there 3 times so far.

You and Pat and I are 100 percent for times out and success. If I wait for a good one that will change real quick for me. Depending on wind direction and how I am moving I may try in the AM
