Either way the park store gets a way fairer share of permit sales than does all the other retailers that sell hunting/fishing permits/and tags.

I have a real issue with the local Walmart stores in Columbia mainly due to issues I have with Stan Kroenke well before he moved the Rams to LA. So I would go into Walmart just to buy my hunting and fishing licenses and spend about 15 minutes or more chatting with the clerk. I figured that would be a net loss to Walmart for those transactions.

the price tag on that bridge is somewhere around $750,000.

I know very little about what it costs to build a 40ft. bridge, but I find it hard to look at this and find 750k

Hell my generous guess, including labor and everything else I can squeeze in there, falls short of 30k so I must be grossly out of touch.

Pete?  🤔

Is that it???!!  I can't tell from the pictures but that H pile they are using runs ~.42/lb.  They look like 14x89's so you are looking at 38.00/LF plus freight.  Can't be 2,000 feet of it including the ones they used for piling.  Looking at less than $100K for the steel I would guess.  That timber they are using is cheap compared to steel.  I don't provide timber or timber mats but it's not that much.  Crane for a day to drive the pile if they used a crane is probably around $8K/day with operator and crew.  Maybe two days total.  I'm sure that's non union labor but you guys would know labor rates down there better than me.  I just noticed the sheet pile bulkhead behind them but it's not very much at all and some of it looks like the original.  Maybe $150k in material and crane would be a total guess from a picture.

Did they put it out to bid?

Engineering and paperwork are often as costly as the material on government projects, aren't they?

Engineering and paperwork could be significantly cheaper if you put it out to bid for design build.  The contractors shoulder that cost to bid it.  You could also save a lot if you bought surplus steel.  But if you don't put it to bid, you're not taking advantage of the contractor's sources of material.

Can’t argue the steel cost though.

What is the average cost of those 4 beams and the anchoring hardware ?
