I was thinking about the state park but I like to fish around Ruark.  The lady st the office said they don’t lock things up till after Halloween but does that mean the state park or all parks.  I would think Ruark would be pretty quiet too wouldn’t it?

I've never driven through Ruark, but in looking at maps, they have a park attendant station. Have no idea if they have gates that they lock in off season?...  State Park has no gates to prevent entry, might use as a back up plan? Hope the treatment is painless and effective!

The west Ruark park is gated off, but the east park is open year round. Currently there is no attendant, but registration may be required. A lot of people use the campsites, especially on the south end of Ruark east. I think some may be hunters.

Just a note, Hawker Point, and much of Orleans Trail will be closed this due to the Special hunt at Stockton.

There are two islands at the mouth of cedar creek on the Big Tebo arm of Truman lake that is not too far from the end of Benton county TT highway.  The smaller west island is on the creek bank and the crappie fishing in that area was always fantastic. Go to the southern end of the island. I used to camp there when I lived up that way. You will have to paddle approximately 3/4 mile.
