Detailing?

Don't need the full treatment, just looking to get the carpet in our old Champion shampooed out. 

Saw one too many spilled energy drinks this season. 

Suggestions on where or typical cost?

I know many others will no doubt chime in...I use a product called Tough Stuff, it is sold at Wallmart. It works well.

One time years ago My kids left a red crayon in the front seat of my new truck, it was about 90 degrees that day, that thing melted into the cloth. I had to spray that stuff on and dab it off, several times, but it all came out. I have used it ever since.

We just called around to carpet cleaning company's Mom and Pop Shops. Cost 130.00 bucks with Scotch Guard

Tuff Stuff works really well. 

As long as the carpet is in pretty good shape a power washer does a nice job too.

Yep.  Just DON'T use soap!!  

Soaps and detergents will never rinse completely clean and will attract and hold dust and dirt like crazy.

Spray with white vinegar/water mixture (I use a 1:3 ratio) and then power wash on rinse setting and it will cleanup nice and fluff it up some as well.

If you feel really froggy, a steel bristled brush afterwards really helps to restore the feel and appearance as well.

Works great and is way cheaper.

I keep my boat in my garage so stains from spilled drinks, fish blood, and Dip-N-Dye build up after awhile.  Letting it sit out in the hot Summer sun for a week or so, and at least one good thunderstorm, totally removes all the stains and leaves the carpet nice and fresh.

You can use it and it does help but you are going to spend some time getting it rinsed.

I took my boat to Aaron Kyle in Kimberling City.  His business is Pro Polish Detailing.  His number is 417-294-4162.  The price depends on the length of your boat.  He does a nice job on the hull as well as the interior.

I have literally done 100's of boats and thousands of car interiors.  

If you have older carpet, do NOT use a power washer.  Power washers can harm your carpet very quickly.

Here are my steps:

For the worst spots:  Use undiluted simple green and carpet cleaner on the bad spots.   Scrub these with a stiff tire brush and very little water.   Wipe up the water or you can vaccume the water as you do it.  Continue to add water and scrub these spots until the water is clear.  

Then apply a carpet cleaner (like resolve heavy traffic) and scrub in if you like with a brush over th entire boat. 

Then wash the cleaner out with a gentle stream of water until all the soap is gone.

To finish ( and most importantly),  vaccume the boat with wet dry vac.  Do this until you remove all the water you can with the vaccume.  On the last pass with the vaccume, hold it down firm and go against the grain of the carpet.   This allows the carpet to fully dry.
