They are out there, but rare. That's what makes them a lunker. A 5 lb catfish of anything other than bullhead is most assuredly NOT a lunker. Those guys start at 15 to 25 depending on the species. A lunker paddlefish is 70 plus. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
jdmidwest Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Spend more time on the water. This year I wasted alot of time catching up for lost time in 2017. Daryk Campbell Sr 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Ham Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 I haven’t really thought about it a ton. I have plans for a Spring Trip with cajunangler in April or May , a trip to Langara in July, an extended trip with Johns Folly in October, At least two overnight float trips, and hopefully I get that trip to Venice in as well. How about > 3000 fish , > 1000 trout, fish in 7 states, 10 new “life time” species caught? Johnsfolly and Daryk Campbell Sr 2 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. BilletHead Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Good thread and enjoying all the responses, My first goal consists of fishing more than I did last year. After loosing my long time fishing buddy it took the wind out of my sails some. It was good to get out and fish from his boat last Summer and remember him. Gets better each time I step into his boat. It did not matter which boat I was in I or the Mrs. and I passed places where he and I fished together and I could tell a story of that spot. I did get to take two of Richard's grandsons and his widow on a run to one of his favorite spots last Spring on the kids spring break. They both helped me operate Grandpa's boat. Cold miserable day. The second thing I hope to do is fish with more Ozark Anglers members. I'm putting it out there ladies and gentlemen. We should fish together. We might catch, we might not but fish we will! Johnsfolly Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 My 2018 goals were varied: Previous years I tracked based upon the Missouri fishing license year from March 1 to Feb 28th. This year I will switch to the calendar year. So all of these achievements were done since March 1 of 2018 and will end Dec 31st. Catch 4 new darter species - I caught three only did not catch any in Maryland Catch 4 new minnow, topminnow species - I caught three only Catch 1 new sculpin - did not achieve that one none in Maryland and did not fish in Maine for a large marine species. Catch 15 new life list species - caught 21 Catch a fish in six new states - caught only in 4 - Rain had kept me from fishing in Illinois and West Virginia Catch a PB striper - lost my biggest one to-date Catch a Taney brown trout - did achieve that one Catch a brook trout in Maryland - did achieve that one Help others achieve their goals: Daughter wanted to catch 40 different species - helped her catch 53 different species Help Ham get to 52 different species - only helped him catch a few different species showed Daryk Campbell how to microfish - he caught a great looking rainbow darter I also caught 64 different species this year which is the greatest number of species in a given year. I am working on trying to get at least one more . Daryk Campbell Sr 1

Well, I guess so, but I might or might not fish The White that much in 2019. I adopted a distraction last Friday.
