Used to keep a number of 11 inch bass from a local impoundment near us when we weren't catching crappie or bluegill. More meat than a crappie. Eventually found lakes with good bluegill numbers and size and didn't keep as many bass from that lake. Also a private lake that they wanted us to keep most bass less than 16 inches.
Terrierman Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 I heard little bass eat a lot like bluegill and crappie.

People eat grunions and sardines and little herring! 1 minute ago, Terrierman said: I heard little bass eat a lot like bluegill and crappie. They do . Quillback Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 The lakes biologist here in Bella Vista insists that you can't hurt the bass populations in the community lakes by keeping the ones under 12". Every once in a blue moon I'll keep some and as you guys have noted they are excellent eating. Same thing on Beaver with the spotted bass, the bios want you to keep them, and they are tasty too. I just don't eat that much fish, it's good about once every two months or so for me. Johnsfolly, Daryk Campbell Sr and BilletHead 3

Oh I agree but it seems that's the exception more than the rule. When I was a kid we used to do a lot of farm pond "management" as requested by land owners.

Today my loving wife is tearing through closets and ridding our daughter of her entire "Squishy" collection because some gal on FB posted that her kid went on a faux acid trip after playing with them. I tried to intervene but lost the argument. Sorry, Madison. 😏 what was this you say.... faux acid trip? ... what kinda toy... I mean so I can stay away from them 😉😉😉😆 Johnsfolly and BilletHead 2
