If these guys can shoot a lick they should have killed gosh only knows how many this month alone.  As far as I know they have only missed 1 or two days the entire month.

Lots of goose hunting in the fields around us. Often wake up to 8 to 10 shots coming from behind the house followed by the same across the street in front of the house. Then repeat. Those guys should be going home with a bunch of dead geese but more likely just spent shells.

Last volley today was around 0900.  3 shots I think.  The guys had a pretty good shoot as that was the 4th. time I heard them pull the triggers.  I think they shot at least 24 rounds, maybe a couple of more.  No bass boats this morning yet.

If you guys remember about 5 yrs. ago I saw an Otter come out of a pontoon canvas cover.  I looked inside and it was totally destroyed.  Brand new boat and not a quarter size piece of any of the seats left.  Just full of manure and fish parts.  Completely totaled out.

and that goes to say about all the fish those things kill just for the fun of it.  folks eradicated them for a reason before.

Amen Bill! I decided to keep my boat in a slip, covered. I can't make this up-last spring my son and I went to un tarp the boat and found a goose sitting in the middle of the tarp on two eggs. That caused the back (transom) portion of the tarp to have a gap in it across the back. After getting the mad goose off which was accompanied by her mate (wish this was filmed) the cover was removed.

At this point we discovered a coon had been in the boat assuming it got under the rear portion of the cover as mentioned above, maybe due to the eggs. After six hours of cleaning the boat and dealing with the ripped up passenger seat and butt seat which was laying on the floor, it got worse. My son opened a front deck storage compartment and there was the coon!!! My lack of good luck  kept right on going. The coon was running from front rod locker to locker (passenger to driver's side). Then he hunkered down under the recessed trolling motor peddle. Once that was removed and he was "helped" out now more clean up was under way!

The guys at the marina were terrific! After their help with the removal of the coon they fixed the seats and thoughly cleaned/detailed the boat. Needless to say, I hate geese and coons! Again, can't make this crap up😳. Boat is good as new now.

I've got a report of bear crap in my BILs pontoon boat. The same one that had the goose nest last year, not found till late spring

Fishing near a dock the other day, uncovered bass boat in one of the stalls, stern sticking out past the roofline of the dock, not on a lift, down by the stern, no telling how much rainwater is in it.

1-21-19  Goose hunter out again today in full force.  First volley at 6:50 a 6 shot barrage followed by another volley of 8 shots about 10 minutes later.  Another burst at about 0800 of 4 shots and that was it for this morning.  No boats today, the wind is blowing 3 plus footers down this stretch.

I'd pay cash money to know who these die hard guys are.

What time do you have to get up to get your spread out and get set up if your shooting that early?  They have to be locals coming out of a dock cause they hunt everyday and the ramps were solid ice the last couple of days 

I would have to go to bed by 5 pm to be on their schedule

Ok the following story is the full truth

A few years back (about 2009) i was a part timer down here - had an old Cajun Fish and Ski on a lift with a boat cover.  One winter day, I uncovered the boat and dropped the lift to go out for a ride/fish.  Back then it was always just a ride as I rarely caught any fish.  I noted a bad smell thinking I may had accidentally left the one fish I caught last year in the live well.  I started to motor down the creek when a young coon crawled out from under the console, ran up my leg to my arm and jumped into the water.  I'm not sure who was more frightened,  the coon or me.  I went back to the dock and discovered three piles under the front deck.  1) to the right a bunch of my torn up towels apparently used by the coon(s) as a bed, 2) the middle pile was lots of fish bones 3) the left pile lots of poop.  I was impressed as to how they kept the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom separated.  I had to climb under there with rubber gloves and scoop all of that out of there.  Gross.

Since then I leave the boat uncover unless there is a prediction of blowing snow or freezing rain like we had a couple days ago.
