Tilt/trim cylinder braces only protect the hydraulic system of the tilt/trim, they do nothing to provide support for the transom of the boat.   They are fine until you hit a bump or a pothole.  

Sturdy transom tie-downs and a brace that goes from lower unit to trailer frame are best.

Thanks guy's for all your input's !!!!  I am guessing it just what that person  wants to use. In lew of my deal doesn't make a difference cause can't find the lock and stow for the new Mercury 4 strokes

So, what do you even need a Motor Mate for ?  Is your tilt system leaking down or something?     

Ya know, your outboard has a tilt lock feature.  Why not just use that?
