Thanks guy's for all your input's !!!!  I am guessing it just what that person  wants to use. In lew of my deal doesn't make a difference cause can't find the lock and stow for the new Mercury 4 strokes

I've had my boat float the trailer, because it was frozen to the bunk rails.

Thank you. I did. On a family vacation to the gulf coast several years back. They were plentiful.

Just a side note my motor mate made it anothe 80 miles today, transom is still there. Never saw the engine move an inch

So, what do you even need a Motor Mate for ?  Is your tilt system leaking down or something?     

Ya know, your outboard has a tilt lock feature.  Why not just use that?
