I love every minute of it.  I hate fishing it but love the whole atmosphere.  I literally only go to the trout parks once a year and its for opening day.  I think this year will be my 21st consecutive year.  We always have a cabin rented at Montauk and have become good friends with the guys next to us that rent theirs.  Its certainly become strictly a "tradition".  Usually, spend like a hour tops in the main stream enough to catch one shy of a limit.  Go back and clean them, then spend the rest of the day in the catch and release area or fly area since we fly fish.

Make sure you have the brightness turned up on your device. This what the bathroom hole at Maramec looks like about 15 minutes before the buzzer on opening day. Doesn’t that look fun?!

Even I avoid that spot like the plague that first day for at least the first few hours. 🤣

Where I was fishing yesterday one hole was that same size and I felt crowded fishing it with three people 😌

Good luck to you guys fishing the opener in the parks. Makes for good memories, good or bad ones.

He didn't say it mattered, he said it bugged him.

Bugs me too.

What bugs me even worse are these Nancy boys that say "What difference does it make how others choose to fish?"

Nothing is more annoying than a person who loves people.   🤣

I guess there are things that bug me too. Maybe I'm a Nancy Boy, Wrench.🎏😆

Spincast fishing doesn't confront me, but leaving your trash along the waterways, now that bugs the beejeezuz outta me.

Yup, less people = less trash.

Wanna make a bet that most trash comes from those spincast totin' boneheads?

Nope. I would agree that it's likely a high percentage of those folks.

That's because all of the fly rodders are out in chest deep water flogging away and their trash just gets dumped in the creek :P!

You just opened up a container of worms :) .   Lets see, Folly=Worms on the stream.

Or better yet their indicators and leaders end up dangling in the trees above the creek!

I do hate seeing worm containers or empty jars of powerbait on the banks. I even see that in blue ribbon streams.
