BilletHead Yeah, I think they’re pretty easy to catch too. On the quest for a CO River Cutt I caught something like 75 brookies. BilletHead and Johnsfolly 1 1 John

Glad I have an agreement. They are tasty feeding on natural foods. They need to be caught, consumed and eradicated in places where the little invasive is crowding out natives! So there I said it again . BilletHead The pools with the large schools of brookies that I fished on Mullen Creek in Wyoming would scatter when anything natural or otherwise hit the water. I had to find smaller schools and wait a bit after getting to a new hole to actually get to fish them. The ones in Western Maryland don't act that way. They seem to not bother a whole lot when you get to a new pool. So maybe the fish in that creek in Wyoming are the outliers. Out West eat them up. They are very tasty after spending their entire lives feeding of what the creek was providing. Here in Maryland treat them well and release. Go eat the stocker rainbows if you need trout to eat . In Colorado, maybe there is something in the water that gives them the munchies if you know what I mean ! Can you catch them on Dorito flies ! BilletHead, Quillback, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 1 3

Bull Creek where we hiked up, way up this little stream. Thin and narrow water. Caught some mighty good cutthroat from undercut banks. Got to a wide meadow sneaking along throwing way ahead. We came upon a deep pool. Worked it over before looking into it. No bites at all. Finally approached and peered in to see one large lone brook trout right in the middle on the bottom. We began to drift everything in the box from top to bottom at every level and not a look. BilletHead Well I might use brook trout for catfish bait - assuming it was legal, which it probably isn't even in places they are trying to get rid of them.. Deadstream Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Guys, I'm talking about 2' wide streams sometimes. You have to low crawl up to them and rest. You get one cast. The best way is floating a small piece of luan, etc with your fly on it and yank it off when it goes under the bank. Or bushwhack into small beaver damns. The scenery is always worth it BilletHead, Daryk Campbell Sr and Johnsfolly 3
