I jokingly asked what he was doing and he said it was his fish call. Not a dozen casts later he put a 6+ in the boat that was good enough for bigbass and pushed us into first place. Taking a piss always starts the bite, especially when catfishing and/or bobber fishing. Like Wrench said, smoking a cig always helps too.

And I think that would be a lot mot than we have above the water I know that vibrations can travel real well thru water. I have always felt like things like your fishing line are very apparent to fish. It not the color are maybe even size. They know it is there. What interest them is what is going on at the end of the line. Even you rod and reel sends vibrations thru the water. I can remember many yers go a some old timers would not use Garcia bait casting reels because they had noisy gears. If of you can remember that period of time your about 80 yrs old. I think fish are constantly bombarded with vibrations just like you are in the atmosphere. A unusual vibration is something that makes them flee are bite. And yes i am sure air sound do penetrate water. You can lay in a dark or muddy river and feel people walking the bank. I have not. But i know some special forces receive that exact type training. If you've ever been swimming or snorkeling when a boat goes by, the prop makes a mid-to-high pitched buzz depending on the rpm. Kinda weird the first time you hear it. The fish can definitely pick up sounds we make, how they react to it depends on the individual fish I'm thinking..... Daryk Campbell Sr 1
mixermarkb Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 I think how much noise effects fish is totally dependent on the mood of the fish and the other factors in the environment. Fish in an active feeding mood, on a shallow windy day, are going to be much less effected by the sounds of a boat as post spawn fish suspended over deep water on a flat calm high skies day. I for one am curious about the hydro wave. I'm not sure it would trigger a bite, but I do think it might cover up some other noises like trolling motor and sonar pinging that the older, more wary fish may have learned to be made by humans, and maybe give you an extra look or two from fish that otherwise would be spooked into not looking at your bait. then again, it may be the color-c-lector of the 20teens. either way, I have a wife and two kids now, so I'm too broke to care LOL Daryk Campbell Sr 1
bobby b. Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 OK guys thanks for all the input including the funny stuff and the ones I did not understand. I believe I will sell my outboard and buy the Surface Drive Unit particularly since it's sooo cool and so I don't have to exchange motors every fall and spring and then store the other. My toys are starting to clutter the garage. Thanks again for your views on this. Bobby Daryk Campbell Sr 1
vernon Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Man, between this and the jerk bait thread y'all got me thinking about thinking about something else! Pretty sure I oughta sell the boat and join a bowling league.... 😱 I happen to know a couple of NASA engineers that begged off about two pages into both discussions and went back to the more simple stuff. Like rocket science. 😊 mixermarkb, 1farmer and liphunter 1 2 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.

176champion Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Im thinking on table rock during the summer prop noise is a given and 24/7 especially when the idiots drive between you and the bank...lol I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
Old plug Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 There is always what we call noise. Just remember they are feeling it not hearing it and they are highly turned to that. That is what God gave them instead of ears. I am sure somethings can drive them away are attjack them. If you want to be super quiet turn of the depth finder. They know your up there pinging them. I think we are better off not working about into much.Otherwise it gets in your head and that will be worrying about it when you should be paying attention to your presentation. Champ188 and vernon 2
