"What criteria determines whether something is or isn't a "gamefish"?

 

Not sure but I'd think having the physical qualities of water balloon would a disqualify a Warmouth.

Some whim on the part of the Commission, why in heck are catfish game fish when they used to be a commercial fish? And German Carp were originally bought to this country because we had "no gamefish". All a matter of opinion until the Commission sets it as a Code.

At one time brown trout were tossed on the bushes, as far as bfing they can legally shoot bass in some states, cats too

Do you eat green sunfish? I have never tried them myself. Always thought that they had a bit of a smell to them. Love catching them except when I an trying for rock bass or small mouth.

I'm pretty sure they mean out side of the mouth by saying jaw

Gigging sun fish is not poaching. Read the regs.

I've read that green sunfish are invasive.

Then  every  fish I ever caught with plugs was foul hooked? I used to know a cantankerous old fly rod man that insisted that it only counted if the the fly was in the upper lip- anything else was foul.
