Interesting,  kind of explains why a new lake or “renovated” water, anglers experience a boom fishery for a few years before fishing tails off from weeding out the more vulnerable tendency fish...perhaps instead of the kill off and drain supplemental stocking of more vulnerable strains would bring back a fishery quicker than a do over 🤔🤔🤔 I wonder if this would pertain to other species?

MONKEYS? what monkeys?

Interesting read, hard to compare a study on a 15 acre lake compared to something as big as Table Rock and the bass that live there.

I saw a similar study years ago where they used two ponds and every fish they caught went in one and they left the rest in the first for years.

Eventually you couldn't hardly catch a fish out of the first pond and you catch them like crazy in the second.

I've looked for it several times but i was never able to find it.

I was going to say the same thing as SIO3. I remember that study with the two ponds. Makes management difficult.

I subscribe to the intelligence theory which can readily be seen in day to day interaction with people.  Why not bass?

i know that when I bird hunted I only was privileged to have one extremely intelligent dog, several which exhibited average intelligence, and a couple that were dumb as a rock.

Ya know.......Yeah!

That's a really good point.  And I think it applies to all walks of life. If you just think about it for a minute there's really no need for a "study".   It's obvious.
