Quillback Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Interesting read, hard to compare a study on a 15 acre lake compared to something as big as Table Rock and the bass that live there. https://www.post-gazette.com/life/outdoors/2019/06/13/Largemouth-bass-fishing-Pittsburgh-Pennsylvania/stories/201906130067 MoCarp, snagged in outlet 3, Johnsfolly and 1 other 3 1
MoCarp Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Interesting, kind of explains why a new lake or “renovated” water, anglers experience a boom fishery for a few years before fishing tails off from weeding out the more vulnerable tendency fish...perhaps instead of the kill off and drain supplemental stocking of more vulnerable strains would bring back a fishery quicker than a do over 🤔🤔🤔 I wonder if this would pertain to other species? MONKEYS? what monkeys?

Eventually you couldn't hardly catch a fish out of the first pond and you catch them like crazy in the second. I've looked for it several times but i was never able to find it.

I was going to say the same thing as SIO3. I remember that study with the two ponds. Makes management difficult.
Dutch Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 I subscribe to the intelligence theory which can readily be seen in day to day interaction with people. Why not bass? i know that when I bird hunted I only was privileged to have one extremely intelligent dog, several which exhibited average intelligence, and a couple that were dumb as a rock. mixermarkb and tho1mas 2

Ya know.......Yeah! That's a really good point. And I think it applies to all walks of life. If you just think about it for a minute there's really no need for a "study". It's obvious.
