m&m Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Welcome to the forum. Good luck. If you get on the lake by 5am and idle out to the gravel point, you can listen for any top water action. The dam area is clear and don’t be afraid to fish in the evening into darkness. Mike murdok, vernon, magicwormman and 2 others 5
Members murdok Posted July 9, 2019 Author Members Posted July 9, 2019 Well I’m here. I through everything in the boat at em this morning for six hrs. Not a bit. Saw some fish busting up at day lite but could not get em to hit. I’m finding what I would think is about the right bottom structure and marking a lot of fish but nothing. Gonna try again in the afternoon. This south ms boy is way out of his element here. This is a whole new ballgame. I will say I downsized my bait cause all the bait I saw was tiny. I also leaned more toward light or translucent lure.

Bill will tell you the same thing and also having some orange on it will help. Any jig trailer you have on needs to have orange on the tips of the claws. mixermarkb 1
mixermarkb Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 6 or even 4 pound line on your spinning gear, 10 to 14 at the max for your baitcasting line, except for topwater stuff will help you out. Get up and out early, and stay late. Take a nap or go see a show during the daytime hours. murdok 1
Bgctrading Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Look for fish in the 28-40 ft range suspended or on the bottom and drop shot a crawler on their head. South West corner of Indian point was good to me this weekend. murdok 1
m&m Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 murdok, welcome to our world. Many of us who live here and can fish table rock lake every day, have similar results. Don’t get discouraged though, keep trying different things but also imagine how some of these spots will be in the spring or fall and then plan your next trip during those times. You’ll be ahead of them by then. Mike murdok 1
Bill Babler Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 If your after a small jaw try the following pts. The trick will be for you to keep your boat deep enough and you will have trouble with this. Emerald Pt. The is on the N. Side of Clevenger Island going East right in front of High Dive. There are two islands, drag a jig 1/2 oz. or a C-rig out that ridge. Start at 20' and drag out to 50' Emerald Pt. itself, with the condo's. Fish in front of the condos out and keep the boat in 35'. Jake's point, immediately to the North same deal. Old 86 camp ground point, across the lake . Drag the point out East and then it bears North. If our boat is under 30' you will not get bit. Lots of places on that ridge also. Flat point just South of the Branson Belle, drag it out toward the Island, again keeping the boat in 20 plus. Try this for your Small Jaw and if you are not successful we will try and get you on a deep K bite. On another note this lake has a huge population of Gizzard Shad and they are simply lake wide right now. They are surfacing in the morning and hanging deep after first light. They surface jump and swim with nothing bothering them, so it may be these you are seeing on the surface and on your electronics. They will get as big, and I mean 1.5 pound class so if you are not used to seeing them they will fool you.
