Went to visit my buddy in Denver a couple Junes ago. Drove up to Boulder to fish. When I left his house that morning it was 67 deg and when I got to my fishing spot it was 34 deg. I was not complaining but holy hell was it cold. “To those devoid of imagination a blank place on the map is a useless waste; to others, the most valuable part.”--Aldo Leopold

jdmidwest Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Fighting the crowds, sweating my sack off, bugs, fighting the crowds, dog days of summer. My time outdoors are best spent before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. Let the herd have their time for 3 months. I will take my 9. And my vacation time off will be during that time. Not that I don't take advantage of any opportunity. Gonna do some Night Fishing on Pickwick tomorrow. If the moon and thunderstorms co-op. David Unnerstall Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Ryan, I did like the cold over the heat and humidity. But I want to mention the sounds of summer. My wife has developed a cough that is worse while at home. I have taken to smoking a pipe outdoors and all of the sounds of a summer evening are very relaxing. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
jdmidwest Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Crickets and Katydids were in full chirp this weekend camping, slept like a baby. But the better half, it kept her up. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Greasy B Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 I love the sounds of summer, at least what I can hear over my tinnitus. Linda and I spent last weekend in a cabin in the Ozark Woods, the evening symphony was a roar. Back at our suburban home last night I heard a few crickets (in my head?) and tree frogs, mostly I heard the din of traffic and the call of rumble strips. I hate living in the burbs. Bushbeater Posted August 10, 2019 Posted August 10, 2019 I want in on the next adventure. What became of the outing we were to have a Boiling Spring?
