We can fish that frog water CW....that is what the paddle jon is made for. 20-25 miles overnight, no problem! Sip a beer and toss your buzzbait!

Nah not me, just a video I found a while back when I was looking for places to kayak near St. Louis.  I'm thinking that water spraying may have just been a broken water pipe from it freezing or something.  Those three guys have a blog called 3dudesinacanoe.org where they document their training for the MR340 back in 2010 and 2011 after their mom died as a tribute to her.

In my lifetime I have owned several canoes and jon boats and built three. I found that each one wasted good fishing time with loading and unloading and rigging and on and on. Arranging shuttles, storing when not in use (most of the time actually). When we have floated a stream, it turned out to be  just that floating a stream get from dump in to drag out, look at scenery quick because it will be behind you in a moment. Depressing activity  really and no time to actually fish any where.  I quit even taking tackle on float trips, those times became  just quality time spent with wife or a kid, and thus less frustrating and depressing. When the kids grew up the floats pretty much stopped and my time on the streams was used to fish.   I kept the last canoe just so that I won't get too serious about buying another, life is short and I'd rather be fishing.

You gotta float shorter stretches then. Some guys like Al are good floating 12-14 miles in a day. That's more suited to a 3 day trip for me. I like to stop and get out to fish, take pictures, sit under a shade tree, whatever.

Zero rivers for me too. Don't know if I'll ever try to do an entire river. We'll see, cause I ain't done yet.

I know a guy that owns one of those Kevlar Ferrari boats. I won't get in it. Word is the thing is harder to keep upright than it is to stay on a bronc for 8 seconds. But then the owner tips canoes and busts paddles more than anyone I know.

We turned that sucker over 5 feet from the put in the first time either of us was in it. And it wasn't the only time that day. 

But he and I have a bad habit of keeping boats upright. I do believe we were upside down the first day we ever met you.
