After reading the comments I am not sure we are all talking about the same thing.

To me Texposed is running the hook all the way through the bait and laying it against the bait with the point exposed.

The pic looks like the point is embedded in the bait.  To me that is Tex Skin.

Yep, the angle of most Shakey heads can make it more difficult to rig. I told a Shakey head expert to rig one in front of me. He made look exactly like picture 1. I also noticed that the hook point was still well inside the plastic. He said he has no issues hooking fish doing it this way. I’ve had different results

I also use EWG hooks and I guess whats call TX Skin. I’m always ripping baits apart to make them a bit smaller, easier to rig and extend their life. On a good day the bottom of the boat is littered with pieces and parts.

I do the same thing. Except as a wade fisherman it's my pockets that get filled. Much to my wife's concern as she does the laundry😌.

I have been fishing whacky rigged lately.  Takes another tool and an O ring.  More tackle to carry, but has been working well.  Been experimenting with different color nails, bought some gold ones to try next time out.
