Because people were hungry.  Doesn't have to be a urinating match.  I just think if you take the whole horn hunting thing out of it there are plenty deer to handle more hunting of them.

There are most definitely facts, I just think that most folks find it easier on their brain to avoid them than to accept them. 

The current fact is that more deer get killed DAILY on the highways than would likely be "taken illegally" in a years time.  The only beneficiary of current regulations is lawyers and body shops.  Oh, and I'm sure the buzzards appreciate it.

Insurance statistics say that MO averages about 3,500 reported deer/vehicle strikes per year, about 5 of those will be fatal to the driver, 350-400 drivers will be injured, plus the property damage. If deer were vaping devices we would be writing laws to ban them.

The mentality of that is interesting, isn't it?   I most certainly participated in it for many years so the hypocrisy is huge (kinda like tournament fishing), but what is it about a picture of yourself with a dead doe, or a little spike, that makes you feel like you have severe erectile disfunction?  Jerky and backstrap taste, and nutritional value, is identical.

Honestly the only thing cool about killing a buck is that you have a handle to drag him with.

I COMPLETELY agree with you on that one. 

We have 3 deer in the freezer and the biggest one was a 7-point killed by one of my little guys.

BUT, to each their own. 

No matter what your opinion, one thing is true (at least in my world) .... Judgement leads to hate ... observations are fine, learning is good, but judgement is a tricky subject for me ...
